BIG Kaiser's 319 SW series is a rigid, new style, twin cutter rough boring system. These corrosion-resistant boring heads offer a unique feature by simply reversing the insert holders users can switch between balanced and stepped cutting. The Kaiser 319 SW series will replace the older 314 RW series.
By not introducing additional components or having to manually adjust insert height for different roughing methods, the 319 series reduces setup time and eliminates the need for a presetter due to fixed tool heights and a diameter scale on the tool.
"These tools are fully compatible with our existing KAB and CKN modular systems and offer much larger variety, versatility and capability to our rough boring program." says Jack Burley, BIG Kaiser vice president of sales and engineering. "Although the current 314 series will be phased out, our customers will maintain the same roughing methods from one head using the 319 program, but now with greater ease of setup and higher performance."
The tools, with a diameter range .787"-8.000", utilize standard carbide inserts (CC, SC, and SP) and provide coolant-through direct to the cutting edge to improve chip evacuation and lengthen tool life.
Enlarging a hole that already has been drilled or cored. Generally, it is an operation of truing the previously drilled hole with a single-point, lathe-type tool. Boring is essentially internal turning, in that usually a single-point cutting tool forms the internal shape. Some tools are available with two cutting edges to balance cutting forces.
BIG KAISER is expanding its range of BIG Capto toolholders with the addition of a new size, C4, which is becoming increasingly popular as a quick-change system for turret tooling on lathes.
BIG KAISER says its hydraulic chucks for Swiss-type lathes are the first improvement to this technology in more than 30 years. These toolholders use a single wrench, which makes for a quick and easy change of the cutting tools on a gang slide.
BIG KAISER introduces two versions of the C-Centering Cutter, a multifunction cutter capable of spot drilling, centering and chamfering. The C-Centering Cutter is an indexable cutter that uses a specialized insert that can start a hole from a solid piece, something extremely difficult to do. It can…
BIG KAISER presents the Torque Fit, a tightening fixture for collet chucks with an integrated torque measuring system. This device makes it easy to ensure that a collet chuck is correctly tightened.
BIG KAISER Precision Tooling Inc. has added the Dyna Contact to its product offering. The ceramic taper gage allows inspection of machine spindle tapers at a glance.
BIG KAISER announced its new Level Master Wireless, a high-precision device for the leveling of machine tool tables. The Level Master Wireless adds wireless connectivity to enable leveling information to be read from a separate display device, making it easier to ensure that a precision level is…
BIG KAISER’s UNIFLEX system is a 3D zero-point clamping system designed to allow parts with curved surfaces to be held rigidly for various operations and be adjusted to different height requirements. The UNIFLEX system is available in two diameters: 25.4mm and 50mm.
The precision and ruggedness of BIG KAISER boring heads deliver measurable performance advantages, significantly reducing finishing cost and cycle time. This is proven through the development of the EWE digital boring head.
BIG KAISER announces its HDC Straight Shank holder to the market, used for increased versatility. The slim design provides superior balance, concentricity and is suitable for reaching into confined areas.
BIG KAISER introduces the Base Master Red, a high-precision touch sensor that rapidly determines workpiece offsets and tool lengths, and the Base Master Mini, a thin, compact tool offset sensor.
