Emuge Corp. has introduced Cut & Form solid-carbide finishing endmills that feature a patented tool geometry that performs two functions: cutting and polishing in one operation, generating significant manufacturing time and cost savings.
The tools’ dual functionality is attributed to a unique design that incorporates three cutting edges to remove material and three burnishing edges to compact the material, producing polished mirror surfaces as fine as 0.08 μm Ra.
These high-performance tools are ideal for trimming 2D contours in nonferrous materials, such as aluminum and copper, and for the medical, jewelry, food and electronics industries.
“Cut and Form endmills are another example of innovative Emuge technology at work, designed to dramatically speed machining throughput, eliminating time, secondary operations and cost,” said Bob Hellinger, president of Emuge.
Emuge Cut & Form endmills are available in two types, stub length and standard length designs, with cutting diameters of 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm.
