MetalMizer introduces the new MV2018 metalcutting bandsaw. Engineered to save space without compromising production, the redesigned MV2018 enhances MetalMizer's presence in the metal cutting industry, according to the company.
The MetalMizer MV2018 is designed to offer the same or greater cutting capacity of other saws in its class with over 30 percent less machine depth. By mounting the motor drive system directly on the cutting head, the MV2018 eliminates the need for a spline drive, allowing for more flexibility by occupying less floor space.
Main Features:
• Cutting capacity: 18" horizontal, 20" vertical
• 45 degree tilting saw head with 3°Forward tilt
• 0-175 pound cutting pressure
• 2 HP, 230v/460v, 3-phase drive motor
"MetalMizer has been a staple in small and midsize operations since its launch in the mid 1980s," said MetalMizer Spokesperson John Storm. "The newly engineered MV2018 is our solution to providing a high-quality, space saving metalcutting saw for the industry."
Featuring a large cutting capacity, the MetalMizer MV2018 is ideal for cutting pipes and steel profiles with awkward bends and compound angles. The MV2018, also suited to cut large diameter plastic pipes and cardboard tubes.

- bandsaw
bandsaw
Machine that utilizes an endless band, normally with serrated teeth, for cutoff or contour sawing. See saw, sawing machine.
- metalcutting ( material cutting)
metalcutting ( material cutting)
Any machining process used to part metal or other material or give a workpiece a new configuration. Conventionally applies to machining operations in which a cutting tool mechanically removes material in the form of chips; applies to any process in which metal or material is removed to create new shapes. See metalforming.
- sawing machine ( saw)
sawing machine ( saw)
Machine designed to use a serrated-tooth blade to cut metal or other material. Comes in a wide variety of styles but takes one of four basic forms: hacksaw (a simple, rugged machine that uses a reciprocating motion to part metal or other material); cold or circular saw (powers a circular blade that cuts structural materials); bandsaw (runs an endless band; the two basic types are cutoff and contour band machines, which cut intricate contours and shapes); and abrasive cutoff saw (similar in appearance to the cold saw, but uses an abrasive disc that rotates at high speeds rather than a blade with serrated teeth).
