The e-spool flex 2.0 is igus’ version of a cable drum without a slip ring. The cable is safely routed through a feed-through to ensure that it is always properly wound. Cable diameters of 5-15 millimeters can be used. The unit can be installed on the floor, ceiling, or wall and safely guides media power, data, or air in one system. The space-saving design includes a locking mechanism on the cable, and is adaptable to technological developments by simply replacing the used cable. The design is also cost-effective in case of repair as it allows for the replacement of individual components.

With AOT onboard, a highly-intuitive graphical user interface provides step-by-step instructions that guide operators through the process of selecting material type, tooling, processes, and cutting motions for the desired part design. From there, the system then simulates the cutting process in a 3D graphical view before exporting the NC (numeric control) program. Using AOT to create custom programs allows shops to maximize their machine tool’s full potential, while eliminating concern regarding correct program syntax.

TungBore-Mini is a multifunctional drilling and turning tool line that integrates the capabilities of drilling, OD, and ID turning tools. Its unique XOMU insert features an innovative geometry incorporating a large inclination angle on the cutting edge that produces light cutting, compared with standard ISO positive turning inserts that are typically used for ID turning or boring operations. In addition, TungBore-Mini’s insert and pocket have a dovetail interlocking design providing better insert clamping and stability than standard screw-down insert clamping, ensuring process security during various applications.

The MarForm MMQ 500 is designed for speed. Its Z-axis vertical column allows movements with up to 100 mm/s—more than three times faster than conventional form measuring devices—for minimized cycle times. The newly developed automatic CNC centering and tilting table is a key factor in speeding up the total cycle time as it enables faster alignment than comparable models, thus increasing efficiency and productivity up to 75% faster than the market standard. This new centering and tilting table also features a high load-bearing capacity to enable the measurement of heavy workpieces, up to a mass of 80 kg (176 lbs.)

XSYTIN®-360 end mills have shown the highest material removal rates and resulted in increased productivity on a wide range of materials. These end mills have proven to be extremely effective when machining a variety of different materials including high-temperature alloys, 3D-printed sintered high-temperature alloys, hardened steels, ductile cast irons, and compacted graphite iron (CGI). In hardened steels specifically, the tool life of XSYTIN®-360 end mills has proven to be equal to high-performance carbide end mills when run at high-end speeds (11,460 RPM), while also removing over 73 cubic inches (over 1200 cubic cm) of material.

The stable cutting edge enables feed rates in the range of f = 0.25-0.4 mm/rev, during grooving and parting-off, which results in reduced machining time across multiple operations. Reliable chip evacuation and control is ensured by a special chip formation. High feed rates require a stable machine  when grooving and parting-off, as well as secure clamping of the workpiece. Starting from a feed rate of 0.3 mm/rev (0.012”/rev), HORN recommends reducing the infeed for the first 3—4 mm (0.118”- 0.157”) during grooving and parting-off.
