10×12 mm TungTurn-Jet Toolholders
TungTurn-Jet toolholders deliver coolant strategically to the optimum position close to the cutting point of the insert. This significantly improves chip control when machining exotic materials that are prone to smearing by effectively breaking the chips into pieces and guiding them away from the cut, which was difficult using a traditional external coolant nozzle method. Additionally, TungTurn-Jet features a second coolant outlet from the insert clearance side which not only improves chip control but also helps minimize flank wear for increased insert life and productivity. n
DrillMeister 12xD Drill Body
DrillMeister incorporates a unique self-locking interface that enables simple and secure drill head exchange. Since drill heads can be replaced without having to remove the drill body from the spindle, tool setup time can significantly be reduced, eliminating presetting, offset, and touch-off of the replaced tool.
BearingStar 90
Due to the extremely short auxiliary process time of 0.9 seconds, the BearingStar 90 is currently able to achieve the quickest roller bearings finish processing in the world. The floor to floor time can be a sensational 3.5 seconds under the conditions of a direct link with an upstream grinding machine, for example, a deep groove ball bearing of an outer and inner ring Type 625. Furthermore the changeover time between two good parts can be reduced to less than 20 minutes. The new fast runner for mass production can even be flexibly converted from radial to axial bearing rings and from ball bearing to roller bearing processing.n
NCSIMUL Digital Twin Software Update
NCSIMUL virtually builds the real-life machining environment to avoid errors, decrease set-up times and switch CNC programs between machines. nnThe 2021 release features a new comparison mode that detects excessive material during a fast and hidden simulation. It shows a solid comparison between the CAD/CAM models or previous cut stock and the NCSIMUL simulated model. n
MicroStar iQ
The 8 station machine for the combination processing doesn't just ensure 100% compliance of all drawing dimensions for highly precise workpieces, but also the consolidation of the process stream. It generates significant cost savings. Oscillation sensors control the sensors and also the quality of the processes. In the area of active magnetic spindle technology, the magnetic fields of the bearings retain the spindle both radially and axially, and perform the feed motions.n
Chip Breaker Inserts
The exclusive FLM 3D chip-breaker design is used on PCD-tipped inserts ideal for finishing of aluminum components, where traditional flat-top inserts may produce a large continuous nest of chips that is difficult to remove from the bore and/or tool, even with high-pressure coolant. Three different radius options are available: .008", .016" and .031" for the insert TCGT2 (1.5).
Forest City Gear Co. donates $3,100 to Rockford Rescue Mission
ROSCOE, IL (May 5, 2020) - Forest City Gear Co. is proud to announce that its employees have raised $1,300 to support Rockford Rescue Mission's efforts to respond to the increased need brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Forest City Gear committed to match employee donations dollar for dollar, raising the total for this most recent fundraiser to $2,600. That tally, combined with a previous donation of $500 from the company, brings the total amount of Forest City Gear's donations to Rockford Rescue Mission to $3,100 to date.
Pepperl+Fuchs Inc. extends live chat hours for customer support
TWINSBURG, Ohio (May 2020) — As COVID-19 has significantly altered the way that business is conducted, Pepperl+Fuchs Inc. is striving to keep the needs of customers at the forefront. To this end, the company has announced extended hours for its live chat customer support.
Smart manufacturing systems: The COVID-19 comeback
The impact of COVID-19 has changed the way we conduct business and illuminates more than ever the need for manufacturers to assess their processes and implement smart manufacturing technology. The challenges that manufacturers face daily have been only exacerbated by the pandemic. Adding value to machinery to allow unattended operations and improve productivity without relying on operators to perform every function is even more imperative in today's climate.
Combating the crisis with bits and bytes: Digitalization in the machine tool industry and metalworking
May 5, 2020 — In the midst of the corona crisis, in between restrictions on movement and contact, a key word that seems to be a universal remedy for industry and the economy is suddenly doing the rounds again: digitalisation. The virologists who are constantly searching for answers surrounding the corona epidemic should be able to use the large quantity of anonymised data of mobile phones in order to better understand how the population is behaving and thus make better predictions on curbing the spread. The importance of well-known digital tools for communication and remote visualisation is increasing significantly in light of the need for isolation and physical distancing and they are being used across all economic sectors. Politicians, doctors and boardrooms are holding meetings in video conferences, schools are transferring their lessons to moving image clips and remote maintenance tools obtain the status of a "system-critical" component.
Aluminum F357
The foundry-grade aluminum alloy, suitable for the laser powder-bed fusion (LPBF) process, enables 3D printing of parts that have traditionally been manufactured using casting practices. There are other Aluminum alloys that are more commonly used in metal additive manufacturing, such as AlSi10Mg, but Aluminum F357 can be anodized and shares characteristics with A356, a widely used casting alloy.n
OCTOPUZ 3.0 PathPlanner Suite of Tools
Two new unique ways to create search statements are introduced to OCTOPUZ. Create a 1 point, 2 point, and 3 point search by manually selecting exact tool touch locations in the 3D environment; or, automatically create a search statement based on a previously-created path statement with automatic calculations of optimal touch locations.n
