GibbsCAM will showcase its latest Simply Powerful CAM software at IMTS 2022 in September. GibbsCAM product experts will be in booth #338880 to highlight the powerful new features of version 2023, which is due to be released just weeks after the show.

Built upon the ModuleWorks toolpath calculation and simulation technology and integrated directly into the CNC, ModuleWorks NGSP brings the graphic touchscreen environment of automated programming to the shopfloor, enabling machine tool operators to quickly build, simulate and run NC programs without in-depth knowledge of G-code programming. Because it is embedded in the control, NGSP has access to the tool library and physical parameters of the individual machine tool.

A new AR function in the CAD configurator merges the digital world with the real world. Users such as design engineers configure 3D CAD models on their computers, smartphones or tablets just as they did before and then download them in various CAD formats. The configured CAD model can now be displayed in the video function of a smartphone or tablet using AR support. This makes it possible to project the digital 3D CAD model into the real world.

FRAMEpro complements the CAD environment by integrating a library of models and data that are kept up to date by Bosch Rexroth on an ongoing basis. Because CAD data no longer need to be transferred from external sources, manual imports, transmission errors or duplicate data are now a thing of the past.

The Bantam Tools Turnkey Solutions is set up to help companies make parts faster using the Bantam Tools Desktop CNC Milling Machine. The service gives designers, engineers and companies a shortcut for figuring out a process to mill on a CNC machine.

The Unified Multiaxis toolpath brings together Morph, Parallel, Along Curve, and Project Curve strategies into a single interface, delivering expanded and highly flexible cutter path creation. The Unified toolpath allows access to these cut patterns when you add the appropriate curves. For example, to create a toolpath that morphs between two surfaces, select Unified from the Multiaxis toolpaths, and then set the Cut Pattern to two surfaces with the Morph style. The Unified toolpath allows for more flexibility in cut pattern when programming in Multiaxis.

The ModuleWorks optics kernel has been developed to meet the growing demand for machining increasingly complex free-form geometries with a precision in the nm range. Integrated into the LT CAM product line, it enables LT Ultra to offer flexible solutions for a diverse range of ultra-precision machining applications with automatic toolpath calculation from point clouds, CAD models and analytical functions as well as corrections based on real measurement data.

—Hypertherm, a U.S. based manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, today announced a major version update to ProNest® 2023, its advanced CAD/CAM nesting software for automated cutting. This new release contains a collection of new features and on-going enhancements designed to help customers improve their operational efficiency while reducing non-value-added tasks.

The new blisk module provides parameters and settings for creating very smooth toolpaths for multiblade machining. Smooth toolpaths ensure consistent acceleration and, therefore, shorter cycle times. The new option for the flatland cycle enables operators to machine flat undercut areas using slot milling tools.
