Deburring

In the past decade, a California-based machine shop has relied on a flexible, honing tool for a range of automated CNC machining applications such as cross hole deburring, cylindrical honing, surface finishing, edge-blending and cleaning.

The EcoCvelox deburring, cleaning and drying machine from Ecoclean Inc., Southfield, Michigan, in May earned a gold award in the machines and engineering division of the German Design Council's "Excellence in Business to Business" competition.

At the DeburringEXPO from Oct. 8-10, 2019, over 170 exhibitors will present innovative and advanced technologies, products and services for quality-critical production steps. This unique range of exhibitors is complemented by an attractive frame programme with theme parks, research pavilions and a bilingual expert forum.

Whether traditional or new manufacturing processes are involved, none of the available technologies make it possible to produce component surface finishes in the required quality. Process steps such as deburring, rounding and cleaning, as well as targeted functional or decorative surface finishing, are thus indispensable. Solutions by means of which these tasks can be executed reliably and economically will be presented at DeburringEXPO at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre from Oct. 8-10, 2019. Beyond this, the third leading trade fair for deburring technology and precision surface finishing will provide valuable know-how at its bilingual expert forum.

If you read the online forums, it is immediately clear that identifying the optimal technique for removing the inevitable burrs created during machining of threaded parts is the subject of much debate.
