Machining (CNC)

Opt Lasers PLH3D-15W

Boasting a real 15 W of optical power as well as a novel design, this is the first compact CNC laser head that not only marks metal, but deep-engraves it. Utilizing blue laser light, it can efficiently process materials that infrared lasers struggle with. Furthermore, it can be adapted to nearly any CNC machine.

ESPRIT TNG 4.7 CAM Software

ESPRIT TNG now also enables manufacturers to perform face-milling operations with a unique “roll-in” lead-in strategy recommended by Sandvik Coromant to improve surface quality, reduce cycle time, and extend tool life. This lead-in technique positions the cutter for ideal thick-to-thin chip formation, which indicates that the insert engages the material deeply enough at entry to make a significant cut before exiting smoothly to reduce vibration and ensure consistent, high-quality surface finish.

MunchMan Conveyor

The MunchMan uses primary and secondary belts installed at the lower curve and through the incline and chip discharge areas of the system. These belts run in unison to grab chips, compress them and carry them securely up steep inclines. This design eliminates the risk of conveyor jams that can occur when chip balls tumble at the lower curve or jam in the conveyor incline section.

AF160 Hobbing Machine

The AF160 can process parts with an outside diameter of up to 60mm and a length of 250mm. The machining length is between 110 and 180mm. The eight axes – all of them independent – make the AF160 the most flexible Affolter machine to date. It can produce straight gears, helical gears, straight bevel gears, face gears, straight or helical crowned gears, worm screws, worm wheels, cylkro gears, and internal gears. Power skiving, the milling of worms and shafts, as well as chamfering is possible, too.

130mm Double-Acting Hydraulic Vise

Jergens’ 130mm hydraulic vise offers users the ability to position the jaws just outside of the dimension of the workpiece to minimize travel when clamping. This, in combination with the speed of hydraulic workholding, reduces clamping and unclamping operations to about one second. The ease of use of these double-acting vises allows users to repeat these time-saving operations, adding up to measurable machine uptime and productivity increases, especially for high mix, low volume manufacturers.

ELEMENT Platform

When designing the new ELEMENT the developers did not just increase the performance of the machine but also went a step further: not only did they use the extensive engineering resources and experience of Messer Cutting Systems, to profit from their many years of successful machine development but also looked forwards to incorporate the latest technologies available now and predict future trends.

Robotmaster Robotic Software Update

Building upon the redesigned V7 architecture, first introduced in 2018, Robotmaster uses integrated CAD/CAM functionality to make robotic programming easy and intuitive for everyone, even first-time users. The software is used by a wide range of industries to program robots for tasks that include surfacing, 3D milling, additive manufacturing, welding, painting, and more.

Wire EDM Module

The new CAMWorks wire EDM module also includes enhanced feature recognition for non-planar geometry. Instead of the user needing to project the geometry for the top and bottom of the part and create 2D sketches, the new wire EDM software uses geometry directly from the solid model to construct and create the correct top and bottom profiles automatically.

EZ-Puller Expanded Capacity

The EZ-Puller is an auto-adjusting bar puller that enables automatic operation of CNC lathes. The auto adjust feature is driven by an "X" value in the pulling subroutine of a lathe program. This value represents the distance the tool needs to move in the X-axis according to the bar diameter being pulled.
