Machining (CNC)

MAZATROL SmoothEz CNC

The most prominent feature of the MAZATROL SmoothEz CNC is its 15" capacitive touch-screen display, which accommodates a full-width on-screen keyboard or up to 60 lines of code. The NC system operates on two 800 MHz CPUs with an expanded 512 MB of DDR3-SDRAM memory. In addition to its redesigned LAUNCHER screen, the new control also has an expanded range of software features, including SMOOTH Machining Configuration, QUICK MAZATROL, and MAZATROL TWINS that were recently debuted on Mazak’s highly advanced MAZATROL SmoothAi CNC.

VC-Ez Series of 3-Axis Vertical Machining Centers

The VC-Ez Series begins with Mazak's introduction of the VC-Ez 20, and soon will include both smaller and larger machines, the VC-Ez 16 and VC-Ez 26. All VC-Ez Series machines sport C-frame designs with X and Y axis motion via moving tables and saddles. For rigidity and repeatable part precision, guideway systems use Mazak’s high-rigidity MX linear roller guide systems, and pre-tensioned ball screws ensure precise axis movement.

NEXIV VMZ-S3020 Vision Measuring System

The system is ideal for inspecting a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, electronic, moulded, cast and pressed components that fall within its 300 x 200 x 200 mm working volume. Nikon's proprietary optical measuring, image processing and analysis technologies are employed to detect feature edges at very high speed, capturing accurately and automatically the shape and dimensions of even the most complex components.

DM-9CNC Wheel Dressing Machine

Available for 9” and 10” diameter wheels, the machine CNC dresses precision contours in vitrified grinding wheels. The shape can be transferred from a CAD drawing into G-code which the DM-9CNC can read to form the wheel. Alternatively, for simpler geometry, the operator can enter the dress profile in a tabulated form on the 15” touch screen HMI. A diamond plated dress roller is powered by a high-speed brushless servo motor offering high torque and closed-loop velocity control up to 10,000 RPM.

DX4 Servo drive and MX Servo Motor Series

The launch of the new DX4 servo drive and MX servo motor series expands Trio’s machine solution and now makes it faster and easier for OEMs to utilize the high performance motion control available from Trio’s range of Motion Coordinators. The DX4 servo drive has plug-and-play compatibility with Trio’s controllers and slice I/O systems, all programmed within a single software, Motion Perfect 5. This increases the speed of application development and commissioning for OEMs in industries including packaging, medical, metal, CNC, robotics and 3C. The DX4 servo drive operates at 200V AC and power extends from 50W to 3kW.

ToolConnect

This system uses a customized RFID read station and an intuitive interface tailored to the user’s tool load and unload process. The ToolConnect HMI displays all user-specified tool and process info, along with a tool image to easily verify that the correct tool is being loaded. The system can automatically index to the correct magazine position for further error-proofing of the process on some machine tools.

GARR Tool Library for Mastercam

Mastercam users can download the GARR TOOL cutting tool library, containing both inch and metric tools, from the Mastercam Tech Exchange. The native, Mastercam 3D tool database is fully compatible with Mastercam 2019, 2020, and the latest Mastercam 2021 release. The new library features over 11,000 GARR end mills, drills, reamers, and roughers, including the new VRX-6, VX-7, and 1880KD series of tools introduced to the market in October 2020.

AutoMarkX

Tool manufacturers are seizing options that streamline processes and save labor costs. AutoMarkX is capable of automated pallet loading and takes care of the tool laser marking process, freeing up operators to perform more value-adding tasks. AutoMarkX is designed for integration with AIMS, being able to automatically receive and dispatch pallets from AutoFetch, while connectivity to the AIMS Server provides details of the message to be marked on the tools.

HPC SpinJet Line

Easily adaptable to the spindle of existing CNC machines, the SpinJet provides instant enhancements in machining performance using small diameter cutting tools. No additional machine purchase or modifications are required: the SpinJet utilizes the machine’s existing through-spindle coolant supply as a pressurized power source to drive the internal turbine for cutting tool rotation, eliminating the cost and nuisances of external air or electric power supplies. This feature gives the SpinJet a compact and smart design, allowing it to be stored in a machine’s ATC or tool magazine when it is not being used and installed on the main spindle as with any other standard tool.
