Narrow-Contour HTC Clamping Chucks

MAPAL has expanded its program of narrow-contour HTC (High-Torque Chuck) clamping chucks, whose narrow shapes are produced without a restrictive brazed joint thanks to additive manufacturing. These new chucks can directly clamp diameters of 3, 4 and 5 mm, also allowing hydraulic clamping chucks to be used on the microscale, for example in medical technology or the timepiece and jewelry industry.

Mega Perfect Grip Milling Chuck

BIG KAISER introduces the Mega Perfect Grip from BIG Daishowa, a simple to handle, heavy-duty milling chuck for heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA) that eliminates endmill pullout under heavy torque loads. For manufacturers using milling chucks, pullout is a major issue, particularly when machining HRSAs, such as titanium or Inconel.

Base Mount Tooling

Heimatec announces immediate availability of BMT (Base Mount Tooling) standard products. In addition to standard X- and Z-axis tools, styles such as adjustable tools, speed increasers and internal coolant tools with capabilities to 140 bar (2,000 psi) are available in an assortment of standard BMT tooling types, including BMT 45, 55, 65 and 75.

Taper-Face Toolholders

Seco has added a new range of taper-face toolholders to meet machinists’ increasing needs for higher production and process reliability. These new options provide two surfaces of contact to offer increased rigidity and consistency compared with standard holders when machining complex parts at high cutting parameters.

HDZ Collet Holders

Even with minimal runout near the nose of the holder, conventional collet holders frequently see larger runout when measured at the cutting edge of longer tools. NT Tool’s original “R” Zero system eliminates this problem by utilizing a four-point adjustment mechanism to adjust runout at the tool tip to as low as 0µm to 2µm.

Changing Quick-Change

Though ITI Tooling Co. Inc. introduced the Varia Rapid-Change Tooling System some four years ago, the company's product manager—Lee Hebenstreit—says word of this technology has not yet spread throughout the markets it could help. That's why the company produced a 22-second video showing the Varia tool changing system in action.
