Model RG Linear Drives

Amacoil-Uhing Model RG linear drives now feature an option for fine adjustment of maximum travel distance. On the standard Amacoil-Uhing drive assembly, the end stops limiting travel distance are set by hand. With the new option, the end stops ride on threaded rods with control knobs on both ends.

MB-4000H Horizontal Machining Center

Okuma says its MB-4000H is a high-speed, thermally stable horizontal machining center that offers quick acceleration, fast tool changes and high power to maximize moldmaking productivity within a minimal footprint. This machine can be equipped with space-saving, large-capacity, automatic toolchangers and flexible manufacturing systems to increase shop floor production.

TungTurn-Jet Turning Tool System

Tungaloy Corp. has expanded the TungTurn-Jet line, the turning tool system with high-pressure coolant capability. Until now, coolant was simply applied by flooding the cutting area, which can cause chips generated during machining to interfere with the coolant flow, preventing it from reaching the exact spot where needed. Tungaloy's TungTurn-Jet’s high-pressure, double-jet coolant system delivers jets of coolant to the optimal position close to the cutting edge and increases productivity by forming short chips in machining difficult-to-cut materials like heat-resistant superalloys.

G1041 Parting Blades

Walter has introduced the G1041, a new line of parting blades with a reinforced shank that ensures maximum stability and reliable grooving processes. Suitable for grooving and parting off on all kinds of turning machines, the G1041 features coolant supply through the clamping block, enabling precision coolant delivery directly to the chipbreaker and insert flank.

Shop Ingenuity debut: Turning back time

Shop Ingenuity is the first in a planned series of video reports featuring shop innovations. In the debut episode, Cutting Tool Engineering visits with CNC Supervisor Jeffrey Johnson at Tuttle Manufacturing in Barrington, IL. Johnson set out to improve the production time for a part that the shop has been running every other month for a customer who continues to increase the order each time.
