Turning

CB7105 and CB7115 Insert Grades

To help manufacturers enjoy benefits such as reduced cycle times and greater tool life when performing hard part turning, Sandvik Coromant has strengthened its existing offer in the ISO H05 to H15 application area with the introduction of two new grades: CB7105 and CB7115. The grades will be of particular benefit to those machining transmission components for the automotive industry, where lower cost per part can be achieved.

Stop-Time Measurement Service

Underscoring its total commitment to worker safety, Rockford Systems LLC announced that a comprehensive stop-time measurement (STM) service conducted by its trained technicians is available to customers using metal-fabricating, metalcutting and turning machines. STM will be a standard service offered by Rockford Systems alongside machine risk assessment, onsite machine safety surveys and equipment compliance proposals.

Combination Tool

Sandvik Coromant offers tooling dedicated to the challenging operation of machining valve seat pockets in oil and gas applications. Composed of a combination of an elliptical Silent Tools adapter and CoroTurn SL cutting head, this tool is designed to overcome prevalent issues such as narrow flow bore diameters, vibration tendencies and long overhangs.

RP7 Geometry

Walter says its double-sided ISO indexable inserts with RP7 geometry provide maximum process reliability in rough turning by combining a ground contact surface with an optimized profile that has a tailored protective chamfer to guard against fracturing. The RP7 benefits from a new design that features a specially designed T-land for protection against chipping, aground seating surface, center curve design for extra cutting edge strength and a deeper chip groove that enables higher feed rates.

3D Molded Chipbreakers

NTK’s new 3D molded chipbreakers are enhanced to achieve optimal chip control on the company’s Swiss tooling. They include: CTP–CX for cutoff operations, GTMH-GX for grooving or side turning, and TBP/TBPA-BM for “single-pass, back-turning” operations.
