Renishaw PLCRenishaw PLC, Wotton-under-Edge, United Kingdom, a provider of hardware and software solutions for on-machine probing, including workpiece setup, workpiece inspection, tool setting and broken tool detection, has partnered with MachiningCloud Inc., Camarillo, Calif., a product data provider for cutting tools, CNC machines and workholding.

MachiningCloud represents a new channel through which Renishaw will provide customers with the digital product data needed to run today's data-hungry shop software. Through this partnership, the product data for Renishaw's family of machine tool probes will be published on MachiningCloud, giving the companies' mutual customers a simple method to select and configure machine tool probes. Additionally, Renishaw's customers will have immediate access to up-to-date 3D CAD models of their probing components and assemblies for use in their CNC programming and G-code simulation software.

"Our partnership ensures that Renishaw customers are a click away from complete and up-to-date product data, which directly affects the accuracy and efficiency of their workflow," said Christophe Rogazy, director of product management at MachiningCloud.

"Renishaw is very excited about our collaboration with MachiningCloud," said Derek Marshall, director and general manager for the machine tool products division at Renishaw. "Users now recognize the vital role that probing plays when implementing layers of control into their manufacturing processes. As such, the use of probes is being designed in from the start while the process is still fluid. To enable flexible planning, it's essential to have quick and easy access to product data. The MachiningCloud platform delivers this and encourages users to think about process control techniques at the earliest possible stage."
