G-Force Cut-off Blades

September 13, 2013

NAP Gladu is introducing a new line of disposable saw blades to the metal market. G-FORCE blades are a complete line of top quality disposable saw blades for high-speed cut-off machines such as Tsune, Nishijima, Amada, Kasto and others. This application and blade design is quickly taking the place of bandsaw operations, according to the company.

G-FORCE blades are available with cermet or carbide tips to suit a wide range of cutting applications. Their thin kerf and optimally sized tips maximize yield and minimize cutting pressures; so G-FORCE blades reportedly require less horsepower, run quieter and reduce bearing and machine loads. They also feature a curved face design for rapid chip removal, providing a cleaner, more accurate cut.

Related Glossary Terms

  • bandsaw

    bandsaw

Machine that utilizes an endless band, normally with serrated teeth, for cutoff or contour sawing. See saw, sawing machine.

  • kerf

    kerf

Width of cut left after a blade or tool makes a pass.

  • sawing machine ( saw)

    sawing machine ( saw)

Machine designed to use a serrated-tooth blade to cut metal or other material. Comes in a wide variety of styles but takes one of four basic forms: hacksaw (a simple, rugged machine that uses a reciprocating motion to part metal or other material); cold or circular saw (powers a circular blade that cuts structural materials); bandsaw (runs an endless band; the two basic types are cutoff and contour band machines, which cut intricate contours and shapes); and abrasive cutoff saw (similar in appearance to the cold saw, but uses an abrasive disc that rotates at high speeds rather than a blade with serrated teeth).
