Parker Steel Co. appoints information technology manager

Shawn KaelberParker Steel Co., Maumee, Ohio, hired Shawn Kaelber as information technology manager. In his role, he is responsible for overseeing and managing the IT department, including computer and network systems, installation operations, telephone systems optimization and other related projects. Kaelber is a liaison among Parker Steel’s customers, vendors and consultants. As part of its management team, he reports directly to President Jerry Hidalgo and helps shape policies and plans to improve business practices and build a strong future for Parker Steel.

“Shawn has strong hands-on experience in computer networking, hardware/software systems, digital and VOIP telephone systems and website management,” said Hidalgo. “His proven track record in his areas of responsibility positions him to be a strong contributor in helping to further improve and build our business.”

“I hope to live up to the great standards of quality and service at Parker Steel, and I look forward to helping serve our team, our customers and our vendors,” said Kaelber.

He graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in applied business, computer network administration. Most recently, he spent 3 years as IT director at Midwest Packaging Solutions. Prior to that, Kaelber served as shipping manager for 3 years and as IT manager for 8 years at Berquist Inc.
