Tool Presetters Designed for Thermal Stability Coupled with High Precision

Lyndex-Nikken, manufacturer and provider of high-performance machine tool accessories and automation, introduces an industry leading lineup of new tool presetters and software from Elbo Controlli Nikken with models: E346BA, E356+, E46B, E46BA, E46BP, E46C, E46CA, E46CX. The presetters are designed with innovative and reliable construction for thermal stability coupled with high precision that is set to transform the CNC industry.

Today, manufacturers and machine shops face several challenges, including time-consuming manual tool setup, machine downtime, lack of product quality, tool wear, material waste, shortage of skilled workers, and inefficiency. Integrating presetters into operations reduces downtime, enhances accuracy, ensures consistency, and improves overall machining efficiency for both mills and lathes.

Building on four decades of unrivalled expertise in precision mechanics and optics, Elbo Controlli Nikken tool presetters by Lyndex-Nikken incorporate custom optical scales and vision systems that are geared for measuring and inspecting cutting tools. Ergonomic and powerful, these tools boost productivity one toolholder at a time.

All Elbo Controlli Nikken presetters use precision ground granite for the base and column, providing the utmost thermal and dimensional stability, making them ideal for the work shop environment. This provides the highest level of repeatability and reproducibility, making these presetters ideal for most tool measuring and inspection applications.

All presetter models feature interchangeable spindles (CAT, BT, HSK, Polygonal Taper, etc.) thereby eliminating the need for adapters which introduce additional error. All units also come with fifty of the most common post processors for today’s CNC controls.

Advanced models incorporate an advanced automatic spindle rotation system with pneumatic engagement, ensuring zero backlash and optimal indexing. This cutting-edge system includes spindle identification, negating operator error and ensuring tools are always measured correctly for the right machine tool taper/size.

For user-friendly operation, the interface and software has been completely redesigned for more intuitive use - resembling a smartphone interface with simple gestures and touch controls. This new presetter operating system streamlines all functions and capabilities on one screen to simplify operations.

“Our new additions to the tool presetter product line support making presetter technology more accessible to machine shops looking to increase spindle time, simplify their operations, and boost efficiency,” said Frank Fullone, General Manager & Presetter Product Manager at Lyndex-Nikken. “By expanding our line of easy-to-use, offline tool setup solution - we are empowering our customers to overcome workforce challenges, reduce set up time, reduce scrap and enhance their overall productivity.”L

Related Glossary Terms

  • backlash

    backlash

Reaction in dynamic motion systems where potential energy that was created while the object was in motion is released when the object stops. Release of this potential energy or inertia causes the device to quickly snap backward relative to the last direction of motion. Backlash can cause a system’s final resting position to be different from what was intended and from where the control system intended to stop the device.

  • computer numerical control ( CNC)

    computer numerical control ( CNC)

Microprocessor-based controller dedicated to a machine tool that permits the creation or modification of parts. Programmed numerical control activates the machine’s servos and spindle drives and controls the various machining operations. See DNC, direct numerical control; NC, numerical control.

  • toolholder

    toolholder

Secures a cutting tool during a machining operation. Basic types include block, cartridge, chuck, collet, fixed, modular, quick-change and rotating.
