The height of the frame is based on the size of the part. The components present in the set permit a maximum set-up height of 300 millimetres. With add-on sets, the frame height can be extended in increments of 100 or 200. The part to be measured is held within the frame by hinged brackets.

The IDC and IDF series Digimatic Indicators have new designs and functions. Improvements include higher resolutions down to 20μinch / 0.5 μm, a built-in Calibration date warning, larger LCD and "analog" bar, and new S1 output (bidirectional communication) which allows settings to be changed through the new USB ITPak 3.0 software (free and paid versions).

The Acoustic Performance Measurement (APM) system is capable of monitoring the parameters of ultrasonic frequency and power in-line at each processing station and for each batch. Special directional microphones are used for this, which are placed in a fixed position at the edge of each tank, and directed towards the centre of the bath surface. There is a growing, industry-wide trend towards using this technology for feeding back data in real time to optimize production line operation – the goal being zero defects. X-ray CT is especially relevant, as it is able to inspect and measure the interior of components non-destructively as well as the exterior.

A spray with which workpiece dimensions and colour values can be digitised in one scan: AESUB transparent. The workpieces are sprayed uniformly with AESUB transparent from a distance of 15 to 20 centimetres. After just a few seconds, a matt, transparent layer is generated on the workpiece's surface. In addition to capturing the surface contours, optical scanners can simultaneously capture the colour values of the object being measured.
