PBF is the most mature additive manufacturing technology for industrial production and represents 86 percent of the worldwide machine install base. PBF is used to build 3D parts by heating successive layers of powder, typically at the micron-level, and generally produces parts that require finishing with conventional CNC machine tools to achieve a high-quality surface finish. 

With HollowStream nozzles, the liquid is supplied into the body of the nozzle creating a swirling action within a vortex chamber. This vortex produces the spray pattern when the machined nozzle breaks the liquid surface tension as it exits the orifice and into a controlled spray angle.

As an external loader, STUDER roboLoad measures only 59.06" (1.50 m) wide: half the width of the machine itself. This saves valuable shop floor space, and yet the system offers plenty of room for workpieces manually loaded on six trays – each measuring 42.52" x 12.6” (1080 mm x 320 mm) – within a comparatively small work area. 

The MMS Insights module provides CNC companies with numerous highlights and suggestions on how to improve their production processes based on data gathered from the automation system, including all the integrated machinery and data systems. MMS overviews the whole production and comes up with suggestions such as adding or removing certain tools or fixtures based on usage rates or updating NC-program runtimes for more precise order scheduling.

Individually, the CoroDrill 462 offers high performance hole making up to 3.00 mm. VpCI-277 can provide corrosion protection for up to two years of indoor storage or during domestic or international shipments when combined with VpCI packaging materials. The product leaves a dry, non-tacky, virtually undetectable film on the metal surface. The use of rust preventatives to preserve metals during storage and transportation has traditionally been a hazardous and messy process in which greasy rust preventatives must be applied and removed several times. This is because metal work-pieces risk flash corrosion as they frequently sit in temporary storage awaiting the next step in the manufacturing or assembly process.

The Xtra·tec XT M5009 face milling cutter has a 45° approach angle, is available in diameters of 25-160 mm (1-6 in.) and provides a depth of cut of 5 or 6.5 mm. It features three pitches for different applications (tools with wide and medium pitch for insert size SN X1205 are designed with carbide shim), and either ScrewFit or shell mill mount interfaces.

The C 1800H is part of the company's C series heavy-duty flatbed CNC lathes. Each model is built with Romi-made monoblock cast iron beds with hardened and ground guideways for optimum rigidity, accuracy, and performance. PI’s hexapod family is growing with the addition of H-811.I2V vacuum hexapod. With a load capacity of 5kg and linear travel ranges up to 34mm and rotary ranges up to 42°, the new hexapod provides very high resolution and repeatability ±0.06µm.

The tangential design of the FIX8 insert features a rigid clamping system that pulls the insert securely into the pocket seat, offering superior stability that enables the insert to withstand large cutting forces and vibrations for optimal performance. The insert is also supported by a replaceable carbide shim, protecting the pocket against deformation and damage.

The quick release fastener consists of two elements: the coupling GN 1050 and the tailored threaded stud GN 1050.1. A safety locking button protects the coupling from being accidentally opened. When pressing the button, the sleeve can be moved axially to unlock a stud inserted into the notch on the inside. At the same time, a red ring becomes visible on the outside to indicate the unlocked state.

Spectrum Bulk Oil Storage Systems are available in three unique tiers to meet specific application needs and conditioning of the lubricant. The three tiers provide complete flexibility when choosing which system is right for the application and each tier allows for future expansion, if needed.

NUM’s basic RTCP function, invoked by ISO code G151, offers a number of user-specified variants. The function can be activated with an inclined coordinate system or after a positioning move. In either case, the CNC system automatically calculates the mechanical offset to ensure that the tool center point is always in touch with the defined workpiece surface while the rotary axes are moving. The RTCP function can also be activated by the actual positions of the rotary axes.

NC4+ Blue systems use Renishaw's non-contact tool setting software package, which continues to evolve to ensure rapid, robust and reliable measurement even in wet conditions. Auto-optimization technology within the software automatically adjusts the movement of the tool in and out of the beam to minimize any wasted movement and therefore cycle time. While features such as a dual measurement mode, where the tool is measured as it exits the laser beam and an advanced tool cleaning option, help ensure the tool is free from debris and coolant during measurement. Further enhancements to tool run-out and profile measurement cycles deliver increased functionality and reliability to advanced users.
