With five models built from two frame sizes, the UNE Series can drill hole diameters from 1.4 mm to 40 mm and depths up to 3,000 mm. The compact frame construction saves valuable floor space as well. Each machine can fit in close proximity to a shop’s existing machining center, lathe or Swiss-style machine for efficient part-processing strategies. Built with quick and easy set-up in mind, the machines are also small enough to be relocated when necessary. For added flexibility to grow with future production needs, all UNE models are robot-ready, allowing shops to add a robot whenever it fits into their budget and production schedule.

The synchronized project data includes the part and stock models, workholding, tooling, work offsets, tool offsets, and G-code program. With the synchronization between ESPRIT CAM and Mazak Smooth Ai, users can now preview the entire machining process virtually on the CNC, using the ESPRIT digital twin, before executing the program on the CNC machine. As a result, manual data input is eliminated, and the machine operator is offered greater assurance of the machining process. This results in shorter setup and prove-out times, and higher quality first-article run-offs.

In the SICK AppSpace eco-system, programmable sensors and edge devices can be configured for new tasks using SensorApps. Many apps are already available for download via the SICK AppPool. For specific applications, SensorApps can also be used independently by the customer and developed together with SICK experts and the support of a developer community. Until now, basic programming skills were required to generate your own SensorApps in SICK AppStudio. That is no longer the case with the new AppPool.

The reCool ERAX uses the patented reCool design to deliver coolant with a maximum pressure of 1,450 psi in live tooling applications with speeds up to 12,000 rpm. Equally well suited for emulsion and oil coolants, the system is currently available for ER collet sizes 16, 20, 25 and 32 to handle tools between 3-20 mm in diameter. Both through-tool coolant and peripheral cooling are possible using REGO-FIX DS/ER sealing disks and KS/ER coolant flush disks, respectively.

Due to the small sizes of these boring heads, the digital display will no longer be present on the head itself, rather the adjustment value will be shown on a separate mobile device or tablet that has the BIG KAISER App installed. Once connected to the head, the App also can be used to set the target diameter and tolerance. This information will stay assigned to the specific head connected until it is changed by the operator. Along with the last measured cut information (entered by the operator each time an adjustment needs to be made), the App can show the adjustment required to get the head set to the target diameter.

The EWA68 boring head has a travel range of .866” on diameter, and with the smallest insert holder, it covers the range of Ø2.677-3.543”. This means that similar-sized bores on the same part could be produced with a single boring head. With the addition of two larger insert holders, the range can be extended up to Ø5.197”.

Programming the OnRobot Screwdriver is as easy as entering the appropriate screw length and torque value into the user interface that is integrated into the teach pendant of any leading robot. With precise torque control and embedded axis, the OnRobot Screwdriver automatically calculates the speed and force required for consistent, accurate screwdriving. The Screwdriver can detect incorrect screw length, which can help improve overall quality and reduce scrap.

In the new CleanAirTower, KEMPER has completely redesigned the head of the filter tower. Extraction openings are no longer located circumferentially on the side, but in the cover of the general ventilation system. A new tornado principle at the head of the filter tower ensures that the contaminated air is drawn in with a very high degree of efficiency. The optimisation also changes the design of the filter tower head. The element can be retrofitted in existing systems.

New features include the addition of plunge-milling cycles to the 3D and 5-axis strategies for machining cutting edges. Material is removed by plunging movements to reduce vibration and improve surface finish, especially helpful for machining edges with steep walls. When 5-axis machining, undercut areas can also be reached by specifying the lateral inclination on the tilted tool. By specifying a distance, circular or linear movement profile, the tool is optimally retracted from the part.
