Millimess 2000 W(i) and 2001 W(i) Digital Comparators
With practical touch control panels, the new digital comparators offer maximum measuring reliability even in harsh workshop environments. A light tap on the touchscreen is sufficient to safely operate the digital comparators with most commercially available gloves. This eliminates the possibility of measurement errors by accidental adjustment or deformation of the comparator. The full-surface glass display also offers protection against liquids and dirt, which cannot penetrate the sealed housing.
SpeedTaps
SpeedTaps are meant to be driven by an impact gun along with an impact socket, for through-hole applications allowing the user to quickly move the tap through the material as the impact gun does its work. The taps are designed with an aggressive starting pitch to catch and start cutting faster than traditional taps.
Sandvik holds transmission machining event at training center
Topics at Sandvik's technical training facility included breakthrough methods for turning and power skiving and tips to decrease cost per part, reduce setup and increase precision.
Renishaw sponsors training event at Haas tech center
Renishaw was a gold sponsor at a recent Haas tech center event.
Andretti Autosport reduced setup times — see how at IMTS
Andretti Autosport and a Big Daishowa engineer will demonstrate how UNILOCK workholding reduces setup times at IMTS.
New Grades of Tiger·tec Gold Inserts
A patent-pending, highly textured, multi-layered MT-TiCN layer increases toughness and reduces flank face wear, resulting in lower cost per cutting edge. The inserts' highly textured Al2O3 layer also minimizes crater wear, and the gold-colored top layer improves wear detection. The gradient carbide substrate boosts wear resistance and toughness. In addition, Walter provides its signature multi-stage post-treatment. This produces an unusually smooth rake face, reducing friction and also increasing toughness.
Wireless Rotary Cutting Dynamometer (RCD)
The wireless RCD from Kistler has a 10 kHz sampling rate that allows to capture highly dynamic foot-prints of the measurement in applications with up to 16 000 RPM. Overall, piezoelectric sensors ensure more accurate measurements than other technologies, such as strain-gauge sensors, which have significant limitations especially when measuring small forces and high dynamic processes. Highly accurate measurements are not only important for research but also for production monitoring. The piezoelectric measurement technology can capture very small changes and deviations before they have a significant effect on product quality.
Mikron Tool’s ‘crazy’ IMTS innovations
Eagerly awaited, IMTS is finally opening its doors again after a forced break due to the pandemic. And during the break, Mikron Tool's R&D department has been busy developing better ways to machine demanding materials in the micron range. Some of them are "crazy."
Complete machining of parts for vehicle transmissions
Armored vehicles need huge levels of drive torque to get going. To deliver the necessary propulsive force, manufacturers rely on transmissions from Augsburg-based Renk GmbH, the specialist in fully automatic transmissions for heavy-tracked military vehicles. And wherever top performance is required, you can be sure that solutions from WFL are not far behind.

VpCI-395 Epoxy Primer
VpCI(r)-395 is Cortec's most durable anticorrosion primer. It not only promotes good surface adhesion between the metal and topcoats, but it also has greater strength as a 2K (two-component) primer. The extra effort that goes into mixing two parts together at the jobsite translates into greater durability because it allows crosslinking, i.e., greater chemical bonding, between the active ingredients in the primer.
