a71nx Horizontal Machining Center
Makino announces the latest addition to its next-generation series of horizontal machining centers, the a71nx. This horizontal machine platform extends the capabilities of the original a71 with a host of brand-new features and technologies, including an expanded work envelope, improved ergonomics, increased spindle torque, innovative tool monitoring, advanced motion controls and the new Professional 6 control.
Multimar 36 B Indicator Gage
Long a shop floor standard for precision ID and OD measurements, Mahr Federal's Multimar 36 B indicator gage has been enhanced to accept a wider range of contacts and anvils, enabling, for example, measurement of pitch, gear diameters, threads, taper diameters and recesses. It can also accept a Mahr Integrated Wireless Indicator for wireless data transmission.
Zero Pan Tilters
Verti-Lift presents Zero Pan Tilters that can be loaded or unloaded at ground level, thus eliminating the need for a forklift, while improving ergonomics and eliminating bending and lifting and the inherent injuries associated with them. They are ideal for areas with no forklift access, tight areas where forklifts are impractical, and for companies which have adopted forklift-free safe work areas.
Modular Milling Tools with Duo-Lock
Back in 2014, Kennametal announced a technology partnership with Haimer for the development of a modular cutting tooling system. Since that time, the company has been busy developing, testing, and building inventory of DUO-LOCK, which promised even then to be "the most rigid and most precise interface in the marketplace."nToday it's even better.
IRB 1200 Foundry Plus 2 Robot
ABB Robotics unveiled its latest foundry robot for material handling and machine tending, the IRB 1200 Foundry Plus 2. This compact robot can increase flexibility and reduce cycle times for precision die casting processes such as smartphone cases and other electrical components.
GN 3663 Metric, Aluminum, Torque-Limiting Knurled Knobs
J.W. Winco Inc. has available GN 3663 metric size, aluminum torque-limiting knurled knobs with steel hub. These knurled knobs are used when manually applied torque is to be limited.
Lynx 2100 Series Turning Centers
Doosan Machine Tools America introduced its latest generation "Lynx 2100" series of turning centers that evolved from its popular Lynx 220 series. An "M" version in the series offers milling capabilities offering the convenience, accuracy and productivity that one setup machining provides.
LPSII Linear Pallet System
Doosan Machine Tools America offers a range of automation devices to enable customers to extend machining time during staffed shifts and for "lights out" operations, such as the "LPSII" linear pallet system.
GE Looks at the Future of Cutting Tools
"Manufacturers who conduct a lot of machining know that the cost of productivity of a machining operation is inextricably connected to the selection of the cutting tool and the process for managing them," writes GE Industry Analyst Andy Henderson in a GE Digital blog post.
Helical Solutions lauded for exceeding expectations
Helical Solutions LLC recently announced a top-tier finish in the 2015 Boeing Industry Challenge II, which is an invitational tournament meant to test the world's strongest and highest-performing milling tools in aerospace titanium.
RUGI High-Performance Endmill Blanks
Sandvik Hyperion is introducing diameter tolerances in high-performance endmill blanks described as RUGI. New tolerances exceed the industry standard with an advanced round tool blanks specification.
AM70 Carbide Grade
Sandvik Hyperion's carbide grade AM70 is an advanced substrate developed to increase machining productivity and performance in titanium and ISO M materials. The AM70 grade is comprised of a combination of submicron carbide grains that provide the perfect mix of toughness and wear resistance.
