Vollmer IMTS 2024 Booth Visit

Arndt Hauger, innovation manager at Vollmer, introduces the VLaser 370 — a high-precision machine crafted for PCD tool production with a focus on the automotive and aerospace sectors. The VLaser utilizes a unique kinematic design that enables fast and efficient laser machining of complex profiles. It offers exceptional dimensional accuracy and is supported by a flexible loading system that accommodates various tool placements.

F.0100-ir Marking System

The ultrashort pulse laser marks in the deepest, matt and non-reflective black without generating significant heat input on the workpiece. Even through further processing steps, such as passivation, the marking remains reliably legible and corrosion resistant. Due to the very short pulses down to the femtosecond range, in combination with high pulse energies, the system marks various stainless steels, titanium and a variety of plastics.

ULTRA X6000 High-Accuracy Laser System

The 150 watt laser expands the available CO2 laser source options for the ULTRA X6000 from 10 to 75 watts to 10 to 150 watts. A maximum of 300 watts of 10.6 µm CO2 laser power can be achieved when the ULTRA X6000 is configured with two 150 watt 10.6 µm CO2 lasers. Higher power enables thicker material cutting in one pass, cleaner results, and faster laser processing with many materials. Additionally, up to 50 watts of 1.06 µm Fiber laser power is available.

M62 Laser Profiler

The laser profilers project a laser line on the gear at a specific angle, collecting data to generate the entire Z-X profile through an image sensor placed behind the optical receiver. The gear is then quickly rotated 360° to collect data points from movement along the Y axis, which is combined with the Z-X profile to create a complete 3D reconstruction of the part, made possible through specific software algorithms. The system then executes the requested measurement and inspection tasks. Line operators can easily review images and navigate to the desired level of detail to identify any anomalies.
