Automatic Guided Vehicles

While we still a way to go to achieve autonomous driving on the road, but factories are miles ahead: AGVs (automatic guided vehicles) are already being used in the area of production. They are responsible for intralogistical tasks in production transporting workpieces from unfinished parts to finished parts between the respective stages of production. Here’s how raw material makes it into a fully automated production system finished parts exit the system with Liebherr solutions.

UR16e Collaborative Robot

Universal Robots announces the immediate availability of the UR16e, which boasts a 16 kg (35 lbs.) payload capability. The new UR16e combines the high payload with a reach of 900 mm and pose repeatability of +/- 0.05 mm, making it suitable for automating tasks such as heavy-duty material handling, heavy-part handling, palletizing and machine tending. With UR16e, Universal Robots is introducing the highest payload and best pose repeatability in this reach class.

Unified Mechanical and Electrical Interface

OnRobot A/S continues to drive its mission of making robotic applications faster and easier to implement with a unified mechanical and electrical interface for any OnRobot end-of-arm tooling (EoAT) that simplifies automation. Now, with a single robotic system, single platform for programming and training, and single vendor relationship, manufacturers have access to a full range of tools, full robot compatibility, and virtually unlimited possibilities for collaborative applications. This new one-system solution speeds deployment so manufacturers save time and money and can quickly realize the benefits of automation.

iXcenter Automation Cell

INDEX has announced that the iXcenter automation cell is now available with its C Series of turning centers. Docked to the machine and easily slid aside to enable unobstructed access to the work area, iXcenter supports fully automatic machine operation and flexibly manages raw material and finished parts.

Chiron Variocell Pallet Automation Cell

CNC machining centers from Chiron combine consistently high production quality, flexibility, low unit costs and short lead times for an optimal process. The addition of the Chiron Variocell Pallet automation cell enables the new high-efficiency FZ/DZ 16 series vertical machining center to produce small batches of a variety of workpieces in an even more productive and flexible way.
