Machining Center/Horizontal

HN80E-5X 5-Axis Horizontal Machining Center

The simultaneous 5-axis machining of the HN80E-5X results in improved cycle times and machined surfaces of complicated and 3D curved components. A quick and easy 5-axis compensation function ensures high accuracy over extended periods. Five-face machining means a reduced number of setups and simplified fixtures for a substantially reduced changeover time. For additional efficiency, the tool magazine is driven by a servo motor for fast and reliable indexing.

New Generation GL Series Turning Center

Models include the GL250, GL300, GL350, and GL450. Each is constructed with durable roller ways on all axis to produce high rigidity. A built-in spindle motor with a chiller incorporated and direct drive servo-motors results in high response speed, accuracy, less vibration, and lower maintenance requirements. Chilling the motor increases life expectancy, and produces less thermal expansion.

Parts and customer demand drive machine technology at shop

According to Manager Scott Vyhlidal, Tri-V Tool and Manufacturing Co. in Omaha, Nebraska, never turns down work or shies away from a challenging part and will give any reasonable venture a try even as those jobs become increasingly more complex. It is for these complex jobs as well as to efficiently meet customer demands in terms of turnaround times that Tri-V has shifted from simple machining technology to more sophisticated and advanced horizontal machining centers, an automated pallet system and multi-tasking part processing. All of which keeps the shop competitive and profitable.

BXA10 CBN Grade

BXA10 incorporates a crater-wear-resistant PcBN substrate and the latest multilayer PVD coating for edge toughness, enhancing the grade’s wear and fracture resistance. The latest development will provide improved productivity, tool life, and surface integrity in continuous to light interrupted cuts at high cutting speeds of drive shafts, gears, and other case hardened or induction hardened steel parts common in automotive industries.

Nakamura-Tome JX-250 High Performance Multitasking Turning Center

To optimize part transfer, independent right spindle guideways on lower turrets minimize the distance between the spindles at 11.8” (300 mm). For highest processing flexibility, a single or twin lower turret design is offered with overlapping travels and Y-Axis box guideways are standard. The new multitasking machining center provides up to 168 tool stations.

AxiCheck Software

AxiCheck helps increase production capacity by quickly and accurately inspecting the state of health of the machine, allowing users to identify and correct errors that may impact the workpiece, as well as planning maintenance operations in advance. This reduces the number of reject parts, particularly when dealing with single batches of expensive part production.

HCR-5000 Horizontal Machining Center

Mazak Corp.'s HCR-5000 horizontal machining center is a 5-axis machine that provides efficient, high-speed machining of small and mid-sized aluminum components and allows for several automation options for increased output. Designed to provide the aerospace and semiconductor/high-tech industries and others with numerous technological innovations, the HCR-5000 offers, in addition to 5-axis machining, a range of high-speed spindle options, from a standard 12,000-rpm spindle up to a 30,000-rpm version, each of which feature an integral spindle/motor and core cooling that minimize thermal growth for higher accuracy. The machine’s auto toolchanger (ATC) features a standard 40-tool magazine with options for 80, 120 or 160 tools available to fit individual shops’ needs.
