A full line of OEM-compatible direct field-replacement CO2 laser optics that are shipped overnight for users in trophy and plaque engraving shops is being offered by Laser Research Optics.

Designed for more effective coolant flow and improved chip control, Carmex’s new X-treme Jet External thread turning toolholder provides two connecting options via an elbow fitting and top clamp to more precisely direct the coolant flow to the cutting edge, where it is most effective.

Tungaloy is introducing a coated cermet grade, AT9530 for steel turning applications. The new AT9530 grade incorporates Tungaloy’s unique multi-layered coating technology and special post-surface treatment PremiumTec. This combination provides superior resistance to wear and fracture for improved productivity in finishing of steel during high speed machining.

Tungaloy’s counterboring tools, TCB series, is now available with new tool diameters, ranging from 26 mm to 59 mm or 1.02” to 2.32”, and inserts with the –CG style chipbreaker geometry.

Tungaloy is introducing Premium Internal Bar – DPMT series for efficient ID turning. This new ID turning tool series reduces cutting force by 10 percent compared with conventional tools, while promising end users with machining stability and superior surface finish quality.

Sandvik Coromant, is introducing two new ceramic insert grades that are capable of performing high-speed, high-security turning operations on components made from demanding HRSA (heat-resistant superalloy) materials. The CC6220 and CC6230 ceramic grades are developed to machine demanding materials where whisker ceramics and SiAlONs fall short.

Walter has introduced WSM01, a premier grade for demanding machining applications. Coupled with Walter’s new MS3 negative geometry, it produces burr-free results with high surface finish quality in the hardest materials.

The LND-65D-S3 is an 11-axis mill-turn center that can often produce parts faster than conventional twin-spindle, multi-turret machines with up to five tools in the cut simultaneously. This machine has a bar capacity of 65mm (2.56”), maximum turning length of 475mm (18.7”), and employs independent 2-axis cross slides that can overlap each other and the turret.
