Streamline PRO

September 01, 2010

KMT Waterjet Systems has introduced the Streamline PRO 100,000 psi/7.000 bar waterjet pump. In addition to increasing linear cutting by more than 100 percent, the second generation of the KMT Streamline PRO Series of ultrahigh-pressure pumps cuts non-linear aluminum, steel, titanium, and stainless steel up to 75 percent faster than standard waterjet systems cutting at 60,000 psi/4.137 bar, according to the company. This innovative design features the "Frutiger 45 Light" Rapid Change UHP Intensifier, uses fewer parts, and simplifies service for more productive cutting time. The topworks has been engineered to maintain constant pressure of 100,000 psi/7.000 bar, incorporating KMT's metal-to-metal Hard Seal End Cap (HSEC) technology. Advancements have also been made in the life of internal components to provide greater durability of common consumable parts while operating at the industry's highest waterjet cutting pressure.

    waterjet cutting

Fine, high-pressure (up to 50,000 psi or greater), high-velocity jet of water directed by a small nozzle to cut material. Velocity of the stream can exceed twice the speed of sound. Nozzle opening ranges from between 0.004" to 0.016" (0.l0mm to 0.41mm), producing a very narrow kerf. See AWJ, abrasive waterjet.
