Dosatron International Inc. announces a new mobile coolant fill system. It includes a durable, roto-molded 15- or 25-gal. coolant concentrate tank, an onboard Dosatron proportioner, a simple garden hose water connection swivel, “no flat” tires and an EZ fill, gas nozzle-style valve, with fill hose.
“As I listened to customers, I discovered that they were looking for an easy-to-use portable solution for filling machine cells with fresh coolant,” commented Craig Peterson, metal processing representative. “They wanted to remove the process of filling buckets and carrying them to fill the machine sumps, only to realize they had spilled coolant and created a slipping hazard.”
The mobile coolant fill system conveniently allows the user to add and adjust coolant concentrations as needed.

coolant
Fluid that reduces temperature buildup at the tool/workpiece interface during machining. Normally takes the form of a liquid such as soluble or chemical mixtures (semisynthetic, synthetic) but can be pressurized air or other gas. Because of water’s ability to absorb great quantities of heat, it is widely used as a coolant and vehicle for various cutting compounds, with the water-to-compound ratio varying with the machining task. See cutting fluid; semisynthetic cutting fluid; soluble-oil cutting fluid; synthetic cutting fluid.
