OMAX offers the versatile 80X with Tilt-A-Jet taper-compensation technology. OMAX Corp.s 80X Series JetMachining Centers incorporate multiple table sizes and a customizable work envelope for precise abrasive waterjet cutting of large components and multiple-part projects.
The Tilt-A-Jet’s advanced automated taper compensation attains virtually zero taper for the precision cutting of parts with square, taper-free edges, including interlocking pieces and dovetail fittings, all while maintaining extremely high cutting rates. With the water-resistant Rotary Axis head for complex 3D parts production, the 80X’s capabilities expand to cut in as many as 6 axes.
With the specially designed Intelli-MAX Software Suite and elite EnduroMAX pump technology, 80X machines swiftly and accurately cut a wide range of materials and thicknesses from metals to advanced composites to glass. The user-friendly software makes it easy to go from concept to finished part in minutes. OMAX’s EnduroMAX pump is designed for long life with a capable of up to 1,000 hours between pump rebuilds, maximizing machine uptime.
Related Glossary Terms
- abrasive
abrasive
Substance used for grinding, honing, lapping, superfinishing and polishing. Examples include garnet, emery, corundum, silicon carbide, cubic boron nitride and diamond in various grit sizes.
- abrasive waterjet ( AWJ)
abrasive waterjet ( AWJ)
System that uses high-pressure waterjets in combination with a slurry of fine abrasive grains to machine materials. See waterjet cutting.
- centers
centers
Cone-shaped pins that support a workpiece by one or two ends during machining. The centers fit into holes drilled in the workpiece ends. Centers that turn with the workpiece are called “live” centers; those that do not are called “dead” centers.
- composites
composites
Materials composed of different elements, with one element normally embedded in another, held together by a compatible binder.
- waterjet cutting
waterjet cutting
Fine, high-pressure (up to 50,000 psi or greater), high-velocity jet of water directed by a small nozzle to cut material. Velocity of the stream can exceed twice the speed of sound. Nozzle opening ranges from between 0.004" to 0.016" (0.l0mm to 0.41mm), producing a very narrow kerf. See AWJ, abrasive waterjet.
- work envelope
work envelope
Cube, sphere, cylinder or other physical space within which the cutting tool is capable of reaching.
