Sandvik Coromant Co.'s CoroDrill 870 is now available for both steel and cast iron drilling operations. The CoroDrill 870 is part of a new generation of exchangeable-tip drills and is designed to save time and reduce hole costs.
CoroDrill 870 can be tailored to optimize applications through diameter range, steps and length possibilities. Holes can be made more efficiently and closer to the specifications required, leaving them better suited to subsequent operations.
A highly secure interface between drill body and tip ensures reliability and precision, while the quick and easy tip change procedure helps to maximize active machining time. The new cutting edge geometries and grades provide a safe cutting process, allowing for increased penetration rates while maintaining chip control and increasing tool life.
The drill is available in diameter range: 12 to 25.90mm (0.472 to 1.020 inch) and lengths 3, 5 and 8 times drill diameter as standard. Each drill body has a unique interface size with matching tips to achieve hole tolerances of IT9 to IT10.
CoroCut QD, the reliable system from Sandvik Coromant for deep grooves and parting off with long overhangs, expands the offering of inserts and durable tools with over and under coolant.
Cast iron milling is the next machining area covered by the new grades with Inveio from Sandvik Coromant. Having already introduced the grade GC4325 for steel turning, the cutting tools supplier introduces GC3330, a wear-resistant first choice grade for cast iron milling.
Sandvik Coromant's exchangeable-head (EH) system includes a wide assortment of solid carbide heads, indexable milling cutters, boring heads, integrated machine adaptors and different shanks.
The CoroDrill 870 from Sandvik Coromant Co. is part of a new generation of exchangeable-tip drills and was recently launched for steel and cast iron drilling.
Sandvik Coromant Co. has expanded the CoroMill 176 range of full profile hobs for spur gears, helical gears and splines to incorporate module 3-10 applications.
The new CoroMill Plura compression end mill for composites from Sandvik Coromant is certain to be of great interest to any manufacturer machining carbon-fiber reinforced polymers.
