Doosan Machine Tools America introduced its latest generation “Lynx 2100” series of turning centers that evolved from its popular Lynx 220 series. An “M” version in the series offers milling capabilities offering the convenience, accuracy and productivity that one setup machining provides.

Makino announces the latest addition to its next-generation series of horizontal machining centers, the a71nx. This horizontal machine platform extends the capabilities of the original a71 with a host of brand-new features and technologies, including an expanded work envelope, improved ergonomics, increased spindle torque, innovative tool monitoring, advanced motion controls and the new Professional 6 control.

Doosan Machine Tools America has evolved its popular and field-proven “DNM” series of vertical machining centers. According to Ron Kilgore, Doosan’s general manager - inside sales, the new series is the third generation of this particular VMC line.

Doosan Machine Tools America introduced a series of large capacity, ram-type vertical turning centers. The series is comprised of the PUMA VTR1216 and the PUMA VTR1216M, which is equipped with an additional spindle for milling, providing convenient, efficient mill-turn capabilities on one machine tool platform.

Sandvik Hyperion is introducing diameter tolerances in high-performance endmill blanks described as RUGI. New tolerances exceed the industry standard with an advanced round tool blanks specification.

C.R. Onsrud introduces its 5­-axis Compact High Rail tailored to the more demanding higher load and larger work volume requirements of the aerospace, automotive, medical and defense industries. ​Options include retractable roof for easy material loading, large capacity toolchangers and multiple spindle configurations to meet varying machining needs.

C.R.Onsrud introduces and demonstrates a machining center designed for complex machining and sawing of
extrusions. This machining center is able to process five sides of thick-walled extrusions and index parts by using its independent servo programmable clamping system. The optional large capacity saw is available for material cutoff and mitering.

Sandvik Materials Technology offers Sanmac, a stainless steel material that can significantly increase machining rates. Year on year Sandvik Research & Development has applied and tested process improvements upgrading the melt of Sanmac material. The result is the introduction of new generation Sanmac, a dedicated stainless steel material available in a range of grades.

Doosan Machine Tools America offers its latest generation of advanced multi-tasking turning centers: the PUMA SMX series. There are six models in the line, stepped in size and capabilities. Preco Inc. announces the Lightning Bolt 2000 laser system for processing of accurate micro features on metallic, ceramic and polymer materials. The system is customizable to accommodate a range of IR, green and UV wavelengths and nanosecond, picosecond and femtosecond lasers and can be configured for specific process requirements.
