UNISIG

With five models built from two frame sizes, the UNE Series can drill hole diameters from 1.4 mm to 40 mm and depths up to 3,000 mm. The compact frame construction saves valuable floor space as well. Each machine can fit in close proximity to a shop’s existing machining center, lathe or Swiss-style machine for efficient part-processing strategies…
Both models feature rigid, robust frames along with their universal spindles for the toughest applications, all of which helps mold makers minimize machining time and maximize throughput. Mold makers require world-class milling capabilities and accuracy, which is why the new USC designs emphasize rigidity and stability. With CAT 50 spindles up to…
UNISIG continues to expand its product line to meet the growing needs of today’s manufacturers, especially moldmakers. The company offers the USC and USC-M series machines, which combine deep-hole drilling and milling capabilities to allow mold shops to reduce setup time, increase accuracy and eliminate mold design restrictions associated with…
Designed as a reliable, high-precision solution for gun manufacturers, UNISIG’s dedicated R-2A rifling equipment performs the most critical final steps of firearm manufacturing. The R-2A barrel rifling machine finishes barrel blanks with a high degree of accuracy, according to the company.
Versatile, productive and reliable, the UNE 12-2 compact gundrilling system brings new levels of increased manufacturing capacity to a variety of industries, including automotive, medical and firearms. Whereas a shop may perform deep-hole drilling on Swiss automatic machine tools, a dedicated deep-hole drilling solution, such as the highly…
UNISIG has unveiled newly developed technologies that substantially improve performance while reducing cost in its larger B-series machines. These advances are introduced in the newly launched B850 model and will be integrated into larger models in the series.
UNISIG engineered its new B700 Drop Bed machine to effectively generate the critical, high-precision features on large and irregularly shaped aerospace components, such as landing gear struts. Conversely, the flexibility of the machine allows it to also process medium-sized, more uniform-shaped workpieces with minimal changeover time from one to…
Books have been written on how to produce deep holes using milling machines or lathes, but trying to drill deep holes with depth-to-diameter ratios greater than 15-1 (D-d) using standard machining centers often leads to frustration, costly scrap and poor use of shop resources.
While shops can perform rotating-workpiece deep-hole drilling on a turning machine, a dedicated deep-hole drilling machine using what’s known as counter-rotation will net much better results.
Fast turnaround times and increasingly complex components are standard requirements in the mold industry.. To meet these growing customer demands with the greatest possible efficiency, high-performance 5-axis machining centers are a must for manufacturers.
Unisig will showcase its comprehensive portfolio of deep hole drilling solutions in booth 339159 at IMTS 2024, Sept. 9 – 14, in Chicago.
At every stage of manufacturing, there is an opportunity for automation. Unfortunately, many manufactures often let perceived barriers keep them from implementing complete machine or process automation. With this mindset, they end up limiting their productivity by automating only one or two aspects of the process or not automating at all.
