Full-Grip Pie Jaws

Dillon Manufacturing full-grip pie jaws made of 1018 CR steel are now available in diameters from 6 to 15 inches, with heights of 2, 4 and 6 inches. Constructed of 1018 CRS, these heat-treatable and weldable steel jaws allow for complete gripping of the workpiece to maintain accuracy.

Full-grip jaws reduce distortion and provide more friction for drive during turning operations. All sizes are in stock or have a short (two-day) delivery time. The steel full grip jaws can be heat treated (case hardened).  Special steel full grips are available (i.e. extra height or diameters) with a one to two week lead time.

Takes the form of straight turning (cutting along the periphery of the workpiece); taper turning (creating a taper); step turning (turning different-size diameters on the same work); chamfering (beveling an edge or shoulder); facing (cutting on an end); turning threads (usually external but can be internal); roughing (high-volume metal removal); and finishing (final light cuts). Performed on lathes, turning centers, chucking machines, automatic screw machines and similar machines.
