Cor-Pak VpCI Stretch Film

Manufacturers and shippers can easily add corrosion protection to their current packaging process by using Cor-Pak VpCI Stretch Film (Hand Wrap). Cor-Pak VpCI Stretch Film serves the same purpose as normal stretch film but also contains vapor phase corrosion inhibitors that protect metals from corrosion. This is especially important for metal components being prepared for export shipment in uncontrolled environments where fluctuating temperatures and humidity could easily cause condensation corrosion. Cor-Pak VpCI Stretch Film can help equipment reach customers in good condition and maintain a positive company image for manufacturers.

The combination of polyethylene resins enhanced with VpCI technology makes Cor-Pak VpCI Stretch Film an advanced VCI stretch film for corrosion protection of ferrous and nonferrous metals. This film is coextruded using
state-of-the-art resins, offering superior strength and stretch characteristics. CorPak VpCI Stretch Film delivers puncture resistance and load holding, which allows a user to down-gauge, contain aggressive loads, and produce a better package at reduced cost. The self-adhering film bonds to each layer for added strength.

CorPak VpCI Stretch Film offers multiple-metal corrosion inhibiting properties for protection of:
• Aluminum
• Galvanized Steel
• Carbon Steel
• Silicon Steel
• Stainless Steel
• Copper
• Brass
• Cast Iron

Vapor phase corrosion inhibitors in the stretch film do not leave residue, allowing immediate use of  protected parts with no additional cleaning required. Cor-Pak VpCI Stretch Film is convenient because it does not require users to significantly change their packaging process. This was important for a manufacturer of heat exchangers who was having trouble with corrosion on equipment being shipped overseas. Since stretch-wrapping was already part of
its packaging process, it was easy to implement Cor-Pak VpCI Stretch Film for use in direct contact with the equipment. VpCI-150 strips were also added inside for an additional source of vapor phase corrosion inhibitors that would condition the internal volume of equipment with protective vapors. The packages were completed by encasing them in regular bubble wrap tightened by normal stretch film on the outside. The result was a satisfactory cost-effective solution that did not alter the company's normal packaging process.
