One-Touch Push-Lock Clamps Provide Tool-Less Locking

Fixtureworks® (Fraser, MI), a leading North American manufacturer and supplier of clamps, fixturing accessories, machine tool components and rollers & bumpers, now offers quick lock One Touch Push Lock Clamps that provide easy, tool-less locking with a 90-degree turn for slide and angle adjustment. Quick and easy clamping is accomplished by simply turning the handle 90 degrees which pushes out the piston to complete the lock down. The clamps provide for reliable operation without over or under tightening and help reduce set up time and increase productivity.

The internal spring keeps the clamping force constant to prevent over/under tightening allowing “error free” clamping with constant clamping force. A visible indicator line and the feel of a “click” make clamping simple for any user and offers secure and reliable operation. These locks are versatile enough to clamp various objects such as square bars, round shafts and linear rails in many sizes. Also available are shaft collars that can be used in conjunction with the push lock clamps.

The clamps are available in two tip styles—flat tip and diamond tip. The flat tip provides just enough force not to damage an object, while the diamond tip provides an increase in holding force.

The piston pushes out to clamp the object such as steel bar or shaft just by turning the handle. The spring-loaded clamp provides consistent and constant clamping force. The friction force generated at the contact point prevents the object from moving.

The piston diameters range from 8.5 to 10 mm and provide 180 to 330 lb. clamping force. The push lock clamps come in orange or black plastic hands, as well as metal handles. They are ideal for applications such as positioning of guide rollers and positioning of fixturing tables.

In addition to quick change pneumatic clamping fasteners, Fixtureworks offers quick release fasteners, quick action sliding locks spring plunger clamps, handle and levers, knobs and grips, equipment handles, hand wheels and cranks, hinges and latches, leveling supports, industrial rubber bumpers, stops and wheels, fixture clamps, clamping locating systems, work positioning elements, vises, grippers and mechanical linear actuators.

  • turning

    turning

Workpiece is held in a chuck, mounted on a face plate or secured between centers and rotated while a cutting tool, normally a single-point tool, is fed into it along its periphery or across its end or face. Takes the form of straight turning (cutting along the periphery of the workpiece); taper turning (creating a taper); step turning (turning different-size diameters on the same work); chamfering (beveling an edge or shoulder); facing (cutting on an end); turning threads (usually external but can be internal); roughing (high-volume metal removal); and finishing (final light cuts). Performed on lathes, turning centers, chucking machines, automatic screw machines and similar machines.
