Quick Load Servo 80 S2

July 01, 2011

LNS America Inc.'s Quick Load Servo 80 S2 automatic magazine loader for short bars (14" to 63", not to exceed the spindle length) accommodates bar stock diameters from ¼" to 3-18"; (6mm to 80mm). The new bar feeders increase productivity through reliable loading and by enabling optimum machine spindle speeds.

Quick Load Servo 80 S2 includes three pushers to cover a broad bar stock diameter range for fixed or traveling headstock turning machines with bar capacities of 1-58", 2", 2-½", 2-58" and 3". Other unique features that contribute to the exceptional range, quiet loading, smooth bar feeding (with or without turret help), and quick changeovers include a patented loading mechanism, automatic bar diameter adjustment for bar selection fingers and centerline alignment, and an easy-to-use, menu driven, prompting remote control.

Additional productivity-enhancing benefits are 15-second partial changeovers within the pusher range either by direct data entry or via part number recall from the library of up to 500 part programs; automatic torque and speed adjustment; X- or Z-axis retraction system; and on-board storage of spindle liners and pushers.

Workpiece is held in a chuck, mounted on a face plate or secured between centers and rotated while a cutting tool, normally a single-point tool, is fed into it along its periphery or across its end or face. Takes the form of straight turning (cutting along the periphery of the workpiece); taper turning (creating a taper); step turning (turning different-size diameters on the same work); chamfering (beveling an edge or shoulder); facing (cutting on an end); turning threads (usually external but can be internal); roughing (high-volume metal removal); and finishing (final light cuts). Performed on lathes, turning centers, chucking machines, automatic screw machines and similar machines.
