Platinum Tooling, the exclusive North American importer for Heimatec live tools and angle heads, announces immediate availability of live tooling for most popular turning center models including DMG Mori, Doosan, Haas, Mazak, Miyano and Nakamura.
According to Preben Hansen, president of Platinum Tooling Technologies, Inc., “We are now carrying a substantial inventory of live tools for our customers’ machines. It represents a significant financial and warehouse space commitment that we have made to support the North American machine tool market.”
Hansen added that the company will be announcing its in-stock arrangement for many other lines of machine tools, moving forward, including Biglia, Hwacheon, Hyundai, and SMEC. Takes the form of straight turning (cutting along the periphery of the workpiece); taper turning (creating a taper); step turning (turning different-size diameters on the same work); chamfering (beveling an edge or shoulder); facing (cutting on an end); turning threads (usually external but can be internal); roughing (high-volume metal removal); and finishing (final light cuts).
