The UltraTEC ultrasonic A25 creates a formation and dissolution/implosion of bubbles in water that release an intense energy during implosion. This is created by an ultra-high oscillation of 20kHz (20,000 oscillations per second) with an oscillation width of +/-80-120microns, which far exceeds the amplitude of ultrasonic cleaning, cutting and welding technologies.

For faster, easier cleaning, the casting of the CUT 400 S Dedicated is designed so that tank water constantly runs down the interior sides of the work envelope, keeping them wet and preventing EDM residue from drying and hardening. This sticky residue also plays havoc with an EDM’s filter and drive systems. To prevent the residue from making its way inside these systems, water also constantly circulates through the new machine’s upper and lower heads.

Two tip types of the QCPSS are available: A flat tip that helps minimize damage to an object, and a diamond-surface tip that provides high holding force. Both versions provide 247 lb. clamping force. A six-fluted countersink will remove more material per revolution than will a four-flute or single-flute tool. Aluma-Bright Foam can be used at 65°F to 180°F at concentrations of 1% to 10% by volume with water.  Foam, immerse, wipe, scrub, or spray on metal then rinse thoroughly with water.  Contact time will vary with soil loading and application.  For optimum results when working with large surfaces, clean from the bottom-to-top to minimize streaking effects, then water rinse from the top of the part and work towards the bottom.  Using a dedicated slow flood rinse motion with ambient to cool clean water, an operator can determine that soils and any acidic residual chemical residue are neutralized and rinsed away when a smooth water break free surface film is observed during rinsing.

Because of its tool size capability, the PG48 holders require the use of a brand-new press-fit assembly unit called the PGS 48. The PGS 48 is an automatic hydraulic press that generates up to 15 tons of force to press and remove collets from the holders and is a single-series machine designed only for PG48.

The flat clamping fastener, with machining spacing tolerance of ±0.1 and repeatability of ±0.3, is made to pair with a locking receptacle, which is available separately. Plate thickness of 6 mm or more can be used with the fastener and receptacle. A clamping and holding force as high as 6.7 lb. (30N) can be achieved.

The improved zirconia alumina and aluminum oxide blending discs also deliver better performance and product life. In addition, the expanded blending disc portfolio provides more connection types, with all of the grain options in the lineup now available in Type S and Type R connections. All the discs are now available with a resin fiber or cloth backing. The resin fiber backing helps reduce the pressure an operator must apply to the disc to maximize the cut rate. It also helps retain the grain on the disc, increasing disc life. The cloth backing offers a more comfortable disc that gives the operator greater control of material removal. The Weiler Abrasives blending disc portfolio also includes a line of aluminum discs that remains unchanged.
