Speeders improve surface finish and reduce cycle times when machining small holes and soft materials, without lengthy acceleration ramps. Reducers optimize the lower speed, higher torque requirements of large holes and tough materials without sacrificing horsepower. In-line holders utilize ER style collets and are available on extensions to machine between chuck jaws.

This model is part of the GrindSmart® series of tool & cutter grinding machines with an axis configuration that incorporate 6 fully interpolated axes (3 rotary and 3 linear) and is unique in this industry. The machine also incorporates linear axis drive technology. 

The MC128 Advance boasts a wide diameter range of 1/4 -3/4 in. (2-25 mm) with a TiAIN coating for universal use. WJ30TF grade is available for ISO materials P, M, K, and S. The MC128 Advance is well suited for die and mold work as well as general metalworking. The MD128 Supreme provides 64% more tool life when compared to similar competitive cutters. It is a close pitch cutter providing maximum productivity thanks to more teeth, a longer cutting-edge length and material-specific grades.

The closed-loop linear slide uses an optical position sensor with sub nanometer resolution and a voice coil linear motor to allow vertical (or horizontal) travel up to 7mm with a velocity up to 200mm/sec (8”/sec) for fast accurate scanning. Guided by low friction cross-roller bearings, this low-profile linear slide delivers long lasting performance in high duty cycle industrial applications. Ease-of-use is built in with a user-adjustable counterbalance, (e.g. for heavy, large NA microscope objective lenses up to 1kg in vertical applications) and hard stop adjustability to limit the travel range.

A major highlight in the new HALCON 21.05 version is the Generic Shape Matching feature, which makes MVTec's industry-proven shape matching technologies even more user-friendly and future proof. With iCCT, the card's security settings are activated via the computer before it is used for the first time. The user PIN is also set here. The card is then ready to deploy and will reliably capture all recorded camera data. iShield Camera supports Loop Recording, where a camera deletes the oldest recordings to make room for new data.

The FBX drill is part of a tooling concept specifically developed to maximize metal removal rates and decrease cycle times when machining aerospace structural components. Quickly removing large amounts of material remains a challenge for these types of components. Traditionally, the first process step is to enter the material by using ramping techniques. This is a time-consuming process and low metal removal rates are the norm.

For maximum acceleration and velocity, KUKA’s optimal motion planning software calculates and sets the correct motion path to ensure that all the robot’s axes can finish moving simultaneously at the desired point in space. The AF160 can process parts with an outside diameter of up to 60mm and a length of 250mm. The machining length is between 110 and 180mm. The eight axes – all of them independent – make the AF160 the most flexible Affolter machine to date. The Sinamics G115D drive system is characterized by a robust design with a high IP protection class (up to IP66 / UL Type 4X) and is suitable for use in harsh environments.  Thanks to its compact dimensions, the Sinamics G115D can be easily installed in confined areas.  The drive system can also be operated reliably over a wide temperature range of -30 to 55 degrees Celsius (-22 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit), enabling operation in deep freezing applications.

The ECM 2400 encoders are available with EnDat 2.2 interface. In conjunction with a safe control, they can be used as single-encoder systems in applications with control category SIL 2 (as per EN 61508) and with Performance Level “d” (as per EN ISO 13849). The fault exclusion that is implemented in its design has been tested and is ensured under the specified operating conditions.
