This black mark is generated using a picosecond laser. The ultrashort pulse durations of the picosecond laser allows it to impart energy to a material surface with almost no thermal effect. Unlike the heat-generated annealed marks made with fiber lasers, marks created by picosecond IR lasers are extremely high contrast periodic nanostructures with antireflective properties that make the marks appear deep black against their surroundings; they are restructured surface material rather than an oxide layer, making them highly resistant to bacterial growth, passivation, corrosion and autoclaving.

Easily adaptable to the spindle of existing CNC machines, the SpinJet provides instant enhancements in machining performance using small diameter cutting tools. No additional machine purchase or modifications are required: the SpinJet utilizes the machine’s existing through-spindle coolant supply as a pressurized power source to drive the internal turbine for cutting tool rotation, eliminating the cost and nuisances of external air or electric power supplies. Pinch grinding offers accurate geometrical dimensions on the blank and tight surface finish requirements. In pinch grinding, the roughing and finishing wheels grind parts simultaneously, with the finishing wheel trailing the roughing wheel. The rough and finish grinding are performed in one pass. This innovative way to cylindrically grind parts eliminates separate processes and reduces cycle time. 

Each jaw of the MM e-motion is independently controlled and monitored by an individual electro-mechanical drive, which allows for many clamping functions including self-centering, compensating, and individual jaw movement all within one fully automated chuck.

The new AL8000 product family is based on a modular system design consisting of linear motors and magnetic plates. Users can choose between three widths: 50 mm (AL8x2x), 80 mm (AL8x4x) and 130 mm (AL8x6x). BSB and DCR tool types are high performance endmill cutters, mainly used for finishing requiring high accuracies. They may be more familiar to some as circular segment or high feed endmills.
