The new HighLight SQD option for Coherent HighLight fiber lasers provides cutting and welding systems integrators with a turnkey, simple to use and cost effective means to implement process monitoring. The HighLight SQD comprises process sensors integrated directly into Coherent’s special fiber laser connectors which detect back reflected laser power and visible spectrum process emissions. These signals, which are provided in either analog or digital CAN bus form (at a 2 kHz sampling rate), can be used to detect various key process events.

In cases where the cutting tool must be moved towards the workpiece, insufficient or not many practical solutions are readily available. The latest release of WorkNC allows users to break free from previous constraints caused by tool shapes, slashing cycle times by up to 74 percent. SKF and KISSsoft have worked together to create a new interface that makes it easier to develop gear units. When designing machines, engineers can select suitable bearings based on the very latest bearing technologies in the interface. EXAIR’s new fine mesh non-woven drum cover is designed for use on 55 or 30 gallon drums. The breathable material allows the air from an EXAIR Line Vac, air operated conveyor, to circulate whether moving material in or out of a drum.

Jergens Inc. announces its Quick Loc (QL) pallet system for fixturing solutions on horizontal, vertical and rotary operations. These low-profile adapters and pallets ensure repeatability of 0.0003″ and provide clamping forces of nearly 14,000 lbs. A single drive screw is used for fast operation.
