To cover the breadth of applications within the MRO segment, there are drills for general purpose machine and portable drilling. These include the popular HSS R10 series for right hand drilling and HSS L10 series for left hand drilling. Also included are the carbide DC series of center drills. A number of these productivity boosts have been achieved by reducing calculation time with EDGECAM 2021’s enhanced parallel-processing capability. Two of the most popular machining cycles – Roughing and Profiling – benefit from improvements to the software’s multi-threading technology algorithms. Three significant time savings: EDGECAM’s world-leading high-speed Waveform Roughing strategy is now significantly faster when generating toolpath for both solid and wireframe components. 

The RFP projects a fringe pattern onto the part surface and the probe’s camera captures the variation in fringe pattern to build a point cloud of 3D surface data. The data cloud is then evaluated by the 3D metrology software to deliver the inspection results. Non-contact structured light inspection with the RFP delivers clear advantages over traditional tactile probing techniques for freeform surfaces and complex geometry, such as additively manufactured parts, aerospace blades and blisks, automotive cylinder head combustion chambers, and delicate surfaces not suited to tactile measurement.

Ceramic cartridge rolls feature self-sharpening grains which continually produce fresh cutting points which easily cut through stainless and alloys.  Self-sharpening grains also reduce friction and prolong cut rates.  Additional grinding aid further reduces heat for extended wear and reduced downtime.  Multiple layers wear away to expose fresh abrasive material, further extending service life. 

The standard parts specialist JW Winco introduces the new Lift and Turn Compression Latch for holding doors, covers and hatches closed. It is operated in two steps with an ergonomic, powder-coated T-handle in black or gray. When folding the T-handle in or out, a stroke of 5 mm is initiated on the rotating latch to generate the required pressure against a door seal. In the folded-out position, the T-handle can be turned to the left or right side, moving the rotating latch 90° behind the cover or door, allowing it to be opened. The rotating latch can be flexibly adjusted for frames between 13 and 75 mm thick, depending on the application. The two-stage movement secures the closure against vibration.

Both versatile and impact-resistant, BigRep's new ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is perfectly suited for mobility applications and a variety of end-use consumer appliances. Weather- and UV-resistant, BigRep’s new ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) material is a robust, engineering-grade filament with high mechanical resistance, low shrinkage and superior layer adhesion, while also showing a greater heat resistance than even ABS.

The mill is best suited to machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous material and materials with difficult cutting properties. This wide range of uses results in lower tooling and administrative costs, as does the fact that its 90° approach angle dramatically decreases the need for finishing operations. Walter Tiger·tec cutting tool materials, the high number of teeth, and small indexable inserts also makes it ideal for workpieces with small machining allowances.

The HS flex heavy handling system is designed to be adaptable to five-axis PERFORMANCE-LINE machining centers (C 400 and C 650) as well as the HIGH-PERFORMANCE-LINE models (C 32 and C 42). This also marks the first time that the C 650 is available with automation capabilities. 

With the measurement of compressed and non-corrosive gases, it reliably displays three parameters at once by measuring the flow, pressure, and temperature. In doing so, it saves the customer money through improved energy management with the reliable detection of leaks. This new flow sensor is also very lightweight and compact, making it ideal for installation in tight spaces.

TungTurn-Jet toolholders deliver coolant strategically to the optimum position close to the cutting point of the insert. This significantly improves chip control when machining exotic materials that are prone to smearing by effectively breaking the chips into pieces and guiding them away from the cut, which was difficult using a traditional external coolant nozzle method. Additionally, TungTurn-Jet features a second coolant outlet from the insert clearance side which not only improves chip control but also helps minimize flank wear for increased insert life and productivity. 

Due to the extremely short auxiliary process time of 0.9 seconds, the BearingStar 90 is currently able to achieve the quickest roller bearings finish processing in the world. The floor to floor time can be a sensational 3.5 seconds under the conditions of a direct link with an upstream grinding machine, for example, a deep groove ball bearing of an outer and inner ring Type 625. Furthermore the changeover time between two good parts can be reduced to less than 20 minutes. The new fast runner for mass production can even be flexibly converted from radial to axial bearing rings and from ball bearing to roller bearing processing.

Designed for FlexMove conveyors, the Dry Cleaning Module provides continuous cleaning of conveyor chain for applications involving powder, dust and other dry contaminates, whereas the Wet Cleaning Module, which are designed for FlexMove stainless steel conveyors, provides uninterrupted cleaning of conveyor chain for applications with liquid, product overfill or package breakage.

DrillMeister incorporates a unique self-locking interface that enables simple and secure drill head exchange. Since drill heads can be replaced without having to remove the drill body from the spindle, tool setup time can significantly be reduced, eliminating presetting, offset, and touch-off of the replaced tool. 

NCSIMUL virtually builds the real-life machining environment to avoid errors, decrease set-up times and switch CNC programs between machines. 

The 2021 release features a new comparison mode that detects excessive material during a fast and hidden simulation. It shows a solid comparison between the CAD/CAM models or previous cut stock and the NCSIMUL simulated model.
