Star Cutter NXT 5-Axis Tool Grinder
Star Cutter's NXT 5-axis Tool Grinder is a versatile 5-axis CNC machine featuring a small footprint and a large grind zone. The machine can run small and large diameter wheels and is designed in a modular fashion that offers quick adaptation to application requirements.
RF 100 Sharp End Mills from Guhring
New carbide milling cutters from Guhring for soft, tough and high-alloy materials. With a 12° rake angle, RF100 Sharp end mills are excellent at shearing gummy materials and feature reduced cutting forces. Available as standard tooling from 1/16" diameter to 1" diameter, in two lengths - also metric sizes.
EDM Automation Demos
View EDM automation demonstrations from Makino Inc. and MC Machinery Systems in this CTE video supplement to "Auto-Burn," the cover story for our May 2022 issue.
Productive Times: Fireball Fizzler
Elite Outfitting Solutions Inc. needed to ensure that a Swiss-style machine would not be destroyed if a fire were to erupt during a cutting operation involving titanium and high-pressure oil. Firetrace International and Haight Fire Equipment Supply provided Elite a fire suppression system designed for a CNC machine.
Sandvik Coromant launches sustainability program
Sandvik Coromant has developed a set of internal goals called Make the Shift that it hopes sets a new industry standard and raises the bar for a sustainable metalworking business.
A-811, G-901 Motion Controllers
Equipped with ultra-low noise PWM drives, the A-811 single axis controller integrates a closed loop servo controller with drive in a compact case. The G-901 controllers are also based on ACS hardware and EtherCat® connectivity, providing up to 1500W output per axis.
PVD Drilling WNN15 Grade
The WNN15 grade delivers outstanding process reliability and long tool life, even at extremely high cutting speeds. This means that it makes indexable insert drilling more cost-effective than comparable PCD tools with immediate effect. The indexable insert drills offer the advantage of multiple indexing which means that the tool can be used again immediately and with comparably lower costs and less time required.
Front-Mount-Base Manual Clamps
The front-mount option is available for inclusion on a total of four manual clamps that can be used with both vertical and horizontal handle action. The two vertical operating models – 2002-UF and 2007-UF – provide enlarged space for manual operations and increased safety.
Base Master Measuring Devices Upgrades
The Base Master lineup is used with all types of machines and materials, including non-conductive cutting tools, workpieces and machine tools. Quickly measure workpiece offsets, tool lengths and cutting edges with zero risk of damage or breakage at submillimeter levels when needed.
Koma makes executive appointments
Koma Precision Inc., East Windsor, Conn., has announced a series of executive appointments.
Have you tried trochoidal milling?
Trochoidal milling within a machine tool is classified as creating a circular machining toolpath with low radial engagement and constant feed per tooth. This results in a reduced chip thickness.
RMI-QE Interface
The system comprises an ultra-compact RMI-QE radio interface with an updated communication protocol, as well as major updates to the complete range of market-leading radio transmission probes. The new enhancements deliver significantly improved battery life, simplified set up, and remote diagnostics to all radio probes.
