Element vertical lift model said to save up to 80% of floor space

July 01, 2011

The newest addition to the Kardex Remstar Vertical Lift Module family, the Element VLM saves up to 80 percent floor space when compared to standard shelving. Designed with simplicity and quality at its core, the Element VLM allows metalworking operations to expand internally without construction or relocation.

The Element VLM squeezes the wasted air space out of shelving, providing increased storage density. An enclosed system of vertically arranged trays, an extraction platform and a series of computerized controls that delivers items to an ergonomically positioned workstation; the Element VLM automatically locates and retrieves stored items with a push of a button or a scan of a bar code.

Using CubeStar technology, upon putaway the height of the product stored on the tray is scanned allowing the Element VLM to store the tray in the least amount of space required. Using 4 inch storage increments the wasted air space in shelving is virtually eliminated. For example, a tray that has product that is 3 inches tall it stored in a 4 inch space.

This storage flexibility allows organizations to store various size products in the Element VLM without reconfiguring the unit. When product heights change the Element VLM simply stores the tray in a larger or small location to match the new product height. There is no need to adjust and move shelves as required in shelving.
