Advent Tool and Manufacturing Inc., a custom manufacturer of thread and form milling products has announced a new facility and headquarters for its company. The firm, established in 1974 as a job shop serving the manufacturing industry, has opened its new location in Trevor, Wisconsin.
According to the Milwaukee Business Journal, the company will lease about half of a new 50,000-sq.-ft. facility in the Salem Industrial Park. The company said the new building provides more office space as well as a larger warehouse facility “allowing us to offer a greater selection of products and services," said company president Jim Hartford.

In horizontal milling, the cutting tool is mounted horizontally, either directly on the spindle or on an arbor. Horizontal milling is further broken down into conventional milling, where the cutter rotates opposite the direction of feed, or “up” into the workpiece; and climb milling, where the cutter rotates in the direction of feed, or “down” into the workpiece.
