Madison Chemical introduces Tumble Brite EP-13, a mild burnishing compound for mass finishing operations. Compared to other alkaline products, Tumble Brite EP-13 decreases burnishing time while cleaning oils and removing oxide and scale, producing a smooth surface with excellent bright appearance and luster. It provides excellent lubricity, controlled foam, and it reduces excessive media-to-media wear, making it ideal for vibratory or barrel operations.
With a pH of 3.0 to 3.5, and a specific gravity of 1.08, the compound does not contain nitrite, phosphorus or silicate, and is safe to use on stainless steel, ferrous, aluminum, zinc, copper and brass alloys, as well as for deburring operations. When not rinsed, it provides short-term rust protection for normal operations of steel media.
Tumble Brite EP-13 may be used in vibratory applications in a dilution of 0.5 to 2.0 percent volume in water. In barrel equipment, the recommended dilution is 1.5 to 3.0 percent volume in water. When used in “closed” barrels, the barrel must be vented. Madison Chemical representatives provide application assistance to ensure product efficacy in a variety of applications and operations.
