KBN020 CBN Grade

KBN020 excels as a 1st choice, general purpose CBN grade with a broad application range from continuous to heavily interrupted machining. Utilizing innovative new layering techniques, Kyocera has developed the MEGACOAT TOUGH coating technology. This coating combines a highly wear-resistant layer on the surface adhered to high-content CBN which is used to toughen up the edge for greater fracture resistance when encountering interruptions.

MP6 Geometry

To cover the widest possible range of applications, Walter offers the MP6 geometry in CCMT, DCMT, TCMT and VBMT basic shapes. Its short protective chamfer, which is characteristic of roughing inserts, ensures a high strength of cutting edge, even in challenging conditions, for example when machining forged parts or components with interrupted cuts. The 18° positive rake angle ensures excellent chip control during medium machining.

AH8000 PVD-Coated Grade Inserts With SDM Chipbreaker

SDM chipbreaker features unique T-land with variable widths and optimized rake angle that provide the insert with resistance against notch wear. Difficult metals like HRSAs are prone to cause notch wear on the insert cutting edge that can severely deteriorate insert tool life. A combination of SDM geometry and the AH8000 grade series will substantially extend tool life and provide superior predictability.

TetraMiniCut Left-Handed Inserts

The series is now introducing TCS18 and TCL18 inserts designed for left-hand cuts, expanding the product lines that, up to now, has offered right-hand inserts only. Grooving and parting tools commonly used in most of the operations performed in conventional CNC lathes and Swiss machines are right-handed. As highly advanced multitasking machines with multiple spindles and turrets are gaining popularity to maximize productivity, the needs for left-hand tools are increasing as well, which enable simultaneous machining on the right and left-hand spindles of such machines.

BallFinishNose

BallFinishNose is an effective tool in finishing and semi-finishing, particularly on geometric surfaces and complex 3D contours common to die-mold or aerospace applications. The insert features a unique asymmetric shape. This design allows users to use the same side of the insert always facing the same direction when set in the tool body, providing the tool with high repeatable accuracy and reliability, surface quality and predictable tool life.
