TungCut CBN-Tipped Inserts

TungCut CBN-tipped STH inserts provide the solution to these challenges with a completely new turning concept. In the shape of TungCut grooving insert, the new STH inserts perform finish-turning by feeding the insert sideways on the worked surface. Its CBN cutting edge features a unique wiper geometry: the frontal edge features an arc wiper of large radius. This generates superior surface finish in straight-line turning applications, while also allowing increased feed rates of up to 1.5 mm (.060″) per revolution with up to 0.1 mm (.004″) d.o.c.

Tiger·tec Gold Inserts

The primary application of the Tiger·tec Gold inserts is steels with various tensile strengths that can be machined. These indexable inserts are ideal for use in the automotive, energy, and general metalworking industries, where the inserts can significantly help reduce the cost per component. Walter is offering Tiger·tec Gold indexable insert grades with its signature geometries starting with finishing (FP5), medium machining (MP3, MP5, MU5) all the way to roughing (RP7, HU5), etc. along with some other niche geometries for specialist troubleshooting purposes.

Tungaloy small insert lines

Tungaloy going small. Small inserts, outstanding productivity. Featuring the AddDoFeed for maximum speed and efficiency at minimum size, Tung-Tri for small shoulder milling operations with cost-efficient inserts and outstanding chatter stability, TungForce-Rec versatile shoulder milling cutter with unique V-shaped bottom for maximum productivity, AddInternalCut four-edged insert for small internal grooving operations with a minimum diameter of 0.438”, and AddMeisterDrill — the world’s smallest exchangeable head drill series with 0.004” increments.

CBN Grade WBH30

Additional improvement in surface quality and stability can be realized with advanced wiper geometry option. Walter offers the new WBH30 CBN grade in inserts with and without MW wiper geometry, and with a negative T-land chamfer for excellent strength in interrupted cuts.

Guhring's System 222 for grooving and parting-off

Guhring Inc. highlights the features of its System 222 (two cutting edges, 22 mm length) for grooving and parting-off in this brief video. Carbide inserts have chipbreaker and cutting geometries pressed into them during sintering for maximum consistency. Left-hand, right-hand and neutral insert designs provide optimal productivity. Square shank and parting blade toolholders are available with or without coolant through.

DoFeed LNMU0303UER Inserts

The new LNMU0303UER inserts are designed to provide a smaller approach angle than existing LNMU0303ZER inserts when set on the cutter body so that the insert generates thin chips. This chip thinning effect reduces cutting loads, minimizing damage on the cutting edges during machining of exotic materials for longer insert tool life. Also, a small approach angle directs the cutting forces in the axial direction towards the spindle.

MiniForce-Turn

The MiniForce-Turn series offers innovative double-sided turning inserts with positive rake cutting edges on both sides. These proven inserts are capable of soft cutting action similar to that of positive inserts with an added advantage of double cutting edges.

DuoJust-Cut

New parting inserts are offered in the JXPS style : a 0.6 mm (.024″) width insert is designed for maximum parting diameter (CUTDIA) of 6 mm (.236″) and a 0.8 mm (.031″) width insert for 12 mm (.472″) CUTDIA, both furnished with pressed chipbreaker. This intricate chipbreaker creates optimally compressed and curled chips, allowing excellent chip evacuation and superior surface finish.

SDMX Indexable Insert

There are two indexable insert sizes with facet—SDMX0904ZDR-E27 and SDMX1205ZDR-E27. The M4002 cutter provides a depth of cut of 1.5 or 2.0 mm and is available in diameters of 25-125 mm or 1-4 in. and is ideal for high-speed milling in steel and cast iron, stainless steel and materials with difficult cutting properties. And for demanding machining in mold and die making and general machining.
