Machines/Lathe

8L Lathe

This new 8L Lathe is a small machine with big capabilities, and has the ability to fill turning needs in a variety of spaces. Rigid enough to cut anything, whether it’s plastic, stainless steel even titanium, this machine can handle it, and at an approachable price point.

TURNPWR Control

On the new TURNPWR, a 12.1” high-resolution display boasts a screen layout that is clearly arranged and user friendly.  Preview graphics in the editor illustrate the individual machining steps for programming the contour as well as corresponding tool path generated using only dimensions pulled from a production drawing.  It also accepts DXF files.

GSL Series Gang Style Lathe

he Gang Type Tooling System aids with high-speed cutting and holds high accuracy during turning of any part. These CNC Lathes are equipped with linear guides for the X and Y axes to provide stable and accurate cutting. As a standard feature, these machines are equipped with a High Precision C-Axis Indexing function.

CNC Slant Bed Lathes

The lathe’s small size and footprint make it an excellent option for machine shops needing a second-op machine or additional chuck. Every bed lathe is manufactured and tested to ensure it meets the highest quality and accuracy standards.

Keeping steel wheels spinning

Since 1910, Simmons Machine Tool Corp., Albany, New York, has built machine tools and measuring machines for producing and maintaining railway wheel sets. The company also manufactures automation systems.

Each wheel traditionally is placed on a machining center using a forklift, a crane or another manual handling method — a slow, inconsistent process in which worker safety is a concern. Simmons Machine Tool sought to boost productivity and improve worker safety when loading and unloading railways for repairs in a vertical CNC lathe.

C Series Heavy-Duty Flatbed CNC Lathes

Romi C series heavy-duty flatbed CNC lathes are built with Romi made monoblock cast iron beds for optimal rigidity, accuracy and performance. The heavy-duty C Series includes nine models ranging from the C 1100H with a 28” (720 mm) swing over cross slide and 72-hp main motor, to the massive C 2600H with an 80” (2,030 mm) swing over cross slide, and a 155-hp main motor. All key components of Romi machine tools are designed and built in-house for complete control and assurance of manufacturing quality.
