The ChilAire Lite system from Cool Clean Technologies is a cost effective way to implement CO2 cooling into any firm's current processes. Using an external nozzle the ChilAire Lite Unit delivers dry CO2 crystals into the cutting zone resulting in significant cooling capacity and lower friction. Unlike Cryogenic coolant, CO2 keeps the tool at an ambient temperature (65-80°F) thereby reducing the wear of the tool. There is no thermal shock and no extreme variations of tool temperature.

The ChilAire Lite is a portable option for shops with multiple machines or is M Code compatible for permanent installation and is especially effective on the many machines with no enclosures in use today. The ChilAire system utilizes recycled CO2 as an alternative to other manufacturing cooling agents. This provides reduced energy usage, elimination of waste disposal, elimination of post-machining washing operations, and the other negative effects conventional petroleum based coolants may have. ChilAire also leaves any chips dry and easy to recycle. Recycled CO2 is an inexpensive, non-toxic and environmentally friendly alternative to other coolants currently applied in manufacturing.

The ChilAire system provides superior surface finish at increases production rates while prolonging tool life on materials such as titanium, high-temperature alloys, steel, composites, plastic or rubber. The ChilAire system reduces cutting heat, eliminates coolant maintenance and improves the bottom line.

  • alloys

    alloys

Substances having metallic properties and being composed of two or more chemical elements of which at least one is a metal.

  • composites

    composites

Materials composed of different elements, with one element normally embedded in another, held together by a compatible binder.

  • coolant

    coolant

Fluid that reduces temperature buildup at the tool/workpiece interface during machining. Normally takes the form of a liquid such as soluble or chemical mixtures (semisynthetic, synthetic) but can be pressurized air or other gas. Because of water’s ability to absorb great quantities of heat, it is widely used as a coolant and vehicle for various cutting compounds, with the water-to-compound ratio varying with the machining task.
