With the addition of a new multi-channel, low noise piezo driver, PI is expanding its offering of high precision piezo amplifiers for applications that require electronics to drive multi-axis piezo positioning stages or need a multiple channel high voltage source in a compact, economical design. PI’s new E-413.x amplifier has bipolar operation with peak currents up to 100mA per channel at -250 to +250V. For OEM applications, compact modules are also available.

The PRAB Bundle Breaker installs in a conveyor’s in-feed hopper, where dual rotating cylinders agitate the material, shredding stringy wads of chips, turnings, and bundles apart to allow for effective processing in downstream equipment. The PRAB Bundle Breaker may be added to an existing conveyor or incorporated into a new PRAB metal scrap processing system.

CeraSFeed features two unique double-sided indexable insert styles: LNXF09 and TNXN12. LNXF09 offers a 1.5mm depth of cut and 4 cutting edges. TNXN12 offers a 2.5mm depth of cut and 6 cutting edges. Both inserts are offered in grade IN76N, a highly engineered SiAlON ceramic grade having excellent high temperature thermal shock resistance, excellent toughness, and optimal thermal conductivity. 

Key features include four insert sizes, grades for all materials, three different cutting-edge preparation options, super strong radius high feed insert geometry, fine and coarse pitch cutters. The 4mm, 6mm, 9mm and 11mm inserts offer depth of cut ranges of .5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm, respectively.

As the name suggests, cutting taps produce threads by progressively cutting away the space between threads into which the fastener's external threads will fit. Forming taps, by contrast, remove no material. Instead, they move or displace material inside the hole to build up the threads and dig into the grooves.

The wheels feature an innovative Norton Quantum Prime nano-crystalline ceramic grain, embedded in an optimized matrix of Norton Vitrium3 bond. The combination of the micro-fracture properties of the new ceramic grain from Saint-Gobain Abrasives and the retention capability of the bond ensures long wheel life, excellent grinding efficiency, and consistent part quality with superior finish which results in cost savings of 30% and more.

Monitoring of the pressure curve in all cavities is now much more precise, with the help of an envelope curve adapted to the process. The ComoNeo 4.1 is WLAN-compatible for the first time, and users will appreciate even more improvements such as additional interfaces and comfortable user management.

The direct drive linear motor provides minimum incremental motion of 1nm, equivalent to ~7 attoseconds of delay. This performance is made possible by an interferometric type linear encoder that provides 20 picometers resolution. The maximum optical delay the V-508 stage can provide is 1668ps, larger PI linear stage models can achieve up to 8000 picoseconds.

The tight turning radius option on FlexMove Helix Conveyors allows for compact turns with a diameter of spiral measuring 1,000 mm (39.4”) at centerline. The advantage this new tight turning radius option brings to customers and their facilities is even greater flexibility in layout for applications such as accumulation, buffering, cooling product and more. The small footprint also solves tight production line space problems.

In the initial variant, which features a total of nine Ethernet ports, the C6027 is ideally suited as an IoT or security gateway for connecting different machine and system modules. ISO-EcoTurn’s GNMG and FNMG inserts each features a reduced nose angle of 70 degrees and 45 degrees, compared with traditional CNMG and DNMG inserts. The increased clearance on the cutting edge allows better chip flow and reduced chip re-cutting issues when face turning the wall. Reduced nose angle also contributes to lower cutting force, minimizing unpredictable tool failure and chatter during machining.  

Resulting in simplified programming and increased process reliability, hyperMILL® VIRTUAL Machining NC code-based machine simulation has also been enhanced. Within the VIRTUAL Machining Optimizer module which links individual part programs with smooth and safe connections, the cutter is able to remain close to the workpiece, violations of the axis limitations are now detected and movement sequences are optimized accordingly. There is also a new option in VIRTUAL Machining to apply a special approach and retract strategy to machines where the cutting tool can be retracted into a tunnel.
